Colors have exciting, relaxing, troubling, and symbolic roles, which means
they may stimulate our emotions (Holtzschue, 2011). Chromatics has been
acknowledged as one of the crucial topics in design education. Aside from that,
colors help us understand relevant information like attractiveness, safety, or
danger (Gutsch, 2011). Therefore, it is essential for us to use the mediation of
color to experience and engage with the items we come into contact with every
day. As a result, chromatics has been viewed as an indispensable tool in design
education as the use of colors plays a vital role in determining the success of a
product in the marketplace (Holtzschue, 2011).Mathematics is an area of
knowledge that has fundamental meaning. In a deeper context, mathematics is
inclined into many fields. It has been a tool for the continuous development of all
other sciences.
In teaching and learning, some research shows that the most crucial part is to
find a suitable approaches to be used in teaching. One of the most factors that
causes student to become passive and interactive when it comes in teaching-
learning and doing activities are the improper use and not utilizing differentiated
approaches. In connection to this, teachers should utilized differentiated
instruction that is flexible, adaptable and enjoyable in order to cater the students
needs.
One of the main learning trends of the twenty-first century is the use of Game-
based learning in education (Ahmad and Iksan, 2021) and in recent years it has
drawn more and more scholarly interest (Zou, 2020). GBL is a method of
teaching mathematics that balances in-person instruction with online learning
while maximizing learning effectiveness using student-centered learning activities
(Lasut and Bawengan, 2020). Additionally, it is one of the more innovative and
enjoyable techniques, and pupils will, inadvertently, pay attention to the teacher's
lessons. This is because pupils naturally enjoy playing video games. In addition,
educational games might help students develop a love of learning, the confidence
to face a variety of challenges along the way, and the patience and focus to get
through them (Liu et al., 2021). All of these traits are essential for higher
education in the development of lifelong learners.
Digital and non-digital games are the two categories of games, according to
Wong and Osman (2018). The goal of GBL, whether it takes the shape of digital
or analog games, is to meet the established learning objectives. The GBL
technique is utilized, in accordance with Khairuddin and Mailok (2019), to
encourage and motivate students to engage more fully in the learning process, to
make learning more fun, and to help the students better understand the courses.
With the help of the GBL technique, teachers may include active learning into
their lessons, boost student interest and engagement, and get immediate
feedback on their performance.
For instance, educational video games employ software that can enhance
arithmetic teachings and pupils' problem-solving abilities (Acquah and Katz,
2020). In addition, it has been discovered that using digital games for studying
The aim of this study is to investigate the level of acceptance of the students
to the game Perya Chromatiká Paichnídia. It generally aims to add valuable
insights to the mathematical approches and provides important suggestions to
improve student achievement in mathematics.
These action research aims to explore the impact of Perya Chromatiká Paichnídia on
student learning, engagement, and teacher experiences in the context of Grade 10
Mathematics education of Ramon National High School.
The strategy involves the development of a comprehensive suite of digital and physical
games that align with the Grade 10 mathematics curriculum. These games will cover a
range of topics, from algebraic expressions to geometry, ensuring a holistic approach to
learning. By integrating these games into regular classroom activities, teachers can
transform mundane lessons into exciting challenges that motivate students to actively
participate in their own learning. Additionally, the intervention promotes collaborative
learning, as students work together to solve problems, fostering a sense of teamwork
and camaraderie.
assessment system will be implemented, tracking both academic performance and the
development of critical thinking skills. This data will be used to continually refine and
enhance the gaming experience, ensuring its alignment with educational objectives.
Furthermore, the result of this study will be utilized to determine if FAME Strategy can be
The participants of this study are the Grade 10 students of Ramon National High
School for the School Year 2023-2024. A pilot testing of the gamification will be
employed and survey questionnaire will be used to obtain data to this study. The
researchers will use a Likert scale to measure the effectiveness of the Perya-

On the other hand, employing the random sampling technique will be done during
sampling that involves the division of a population into smaller sub-groups known as
strata. Henceforth, the researcher shall conduct pretest from the 60 Grade 10 pupils.
Then, cluster sampling will be done. All the student who obtained the passing score will
serve as the controlled group while those student who obtained the failing scores will
Prior to the conduct of the study, the researchers went to Pinto National
High School to interview the teachers regarding to the problems they
encountered and are encountering every day during discussion. After
researchers successfully defined the problem they brainstormed, designed, and
visualized the illustration that can effectively solve the problems. After building
the prototype, the researchers will test thee software via pilot testing with the
target subjects. The prototype will have its final testing and will be evaluated
thoroughly. After the data will be gathered, analyzed, and interpreted. After
interpretation, the researchers then will have their conclusion, recommendations,
and solutions on the students’ poor understanding on teaching mathematics.
c. Ethical Issues
The researcher will seek first the approval of this action research from the proper
authority. The conduct of the pre and posttest will be done by the researcher to ensure
The result of the study will only an endeavor on how to improve the teaching-
learning process using gamification. Moreover, the utmost professionalism, data privacy
and confidentiality shall be observed. The parents of the participants will be notified by
sending parents’ consent for them to better understand what the study is all about. The
consent will be an evidence that the pupils’ participation in the said study is voluntary,
no participants will be forced, harmed and abused. Hence, ethical consideration shall be
In computing the data gathered in this study, SPSS will be employed. This means
