Rowing was one of the original sports for the first Modern Olympic Games
in 1896, but there wasn’t a race because the weather was bad.
I often compete in rowing races with my school. I like to row in races on
my own, but there are also races for groups of two, four, or eight people.
Our school races are usually 3 km. long. Olympic rowing races are 2 km.
