Thank you telling us how we could help you be more effective in discipling.
You describe your faith as growing, and that you are growing closer to God on
a daily basis.
That's wonderful! You've no doubt seen the kind of challenges and trials a believer will
face on a daily basis, but you've also seen the grace of God at work as you overcome
those trials. Look back to where you were before you started your journey. How would
you describe the difference? Have you considered inviting someone else to join you on
this journey and helping them grow closer to God?
You say that the Bible has authority over your life.
We agree about the importance of the Bible. Make it a point to continue reading it often.
You say that you look for ways to share your faith with non-beleivers.
Have you noticed that when you put yourself out there to share the Gospel with others, God will find ways to
bring others to you?
You are pursuing relationships with people far from God.
It takes a lot to develop relationships with people like this. Let us know how we can be praying.
You pursue relationships with others from different cultures or social strata.
Jesus called us to bring the Gospel to the world, and you're a big part of that by looking beyond your social
situation to build relationships.
Trials come at us every day, but your faith is secure in God's love.
Who around you needs to know that peace you have?
It's good to know that God is always in control in all things, as you do.
How can you continue to build that assurance today?
You believe that the Bible is God's word and will never fail.
That's a great attitude. Share with someone how you came to that conclusion.
You're aware of what will lead you to sin and seek to avoid those situations.
How does reading the Bible figure in to planning your day?
You say that all you have belongs to God, and the Bible would agree with you
there.
But this is an easy thing to say, and less easy to actually live by. Would someone looking at your life also
conclude that all you have belongs to God?
You say that you keep in touch with a body of believers.
Attending church as you do is a good way to maintain that contact. Take some time to pray for the needs of your
friends at church.
You are intentional about spending time with other believers.
You're helping build the body of Christ.
God called us all to make disciples and you are helping others grow in their
faith.
Pray for more opportunities to share and for the wisdom you need in presenting the faith.
You say you spend very little time thinking about tempting things. It's ok to admit that
you're sometimes tempted, we all are, every day. Pray for more insight into what tempts
you.
You indicate that discouragement is one of your struggles.
Life can be hard when there doesn't seem to be any purpose. But the Bible reminds us in
Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Pastor Nat took a couple minutes recently to talk to us about this verse:

You say that you struggle with worry.
Worry can be an immense weight we carry around with us, constantly reminding us of its
presence. But 1 Corinthians 13:13 reminds us of something stronger than our worry. “So
now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
Laura knows some things about worry and shared them with us recently:
You indicate that you'd like to grow in faithfulness.
Perhaps you're thinking of verses like this when thinking about your life. Hebrews 11:33:
"By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God
had promised them."
Recently Jemalyn was here and shared with us a bit about this topic:

You say you want to grow more in gentleness.
Gentleness can easily get confused with being good, or kind. But at the heart, being
gentle is about restraint. Think of holding a baby gently, being careful to hold firmly, but
not with all your strength. And given the power of our speech, it's not surprising the Bible
has a lot to say about being gentle with our words. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle
answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare."
We recently talked to Paula about this, and this is what she had to share:

You say you want to grow more in goodness.
This is an important quality and often overlooked in our increasingly aggressive world.
But demonstrating our goodness to the world was a key part of Jesus' Sermon on the
Mount. Here's what He said in Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A city set
on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a
stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before
others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in
heaven."
We recently talked to Mark about this, and this is what he had to share:

You want to grow in joy.
And that seem to be growing exceedingly rare these days. The Psalms encourages us to
be joyful like in 118:24: “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be
glad in it.”
Madison talked to us recently about joy, and here's what she had to say:

You say you want to grow more in kindness.
This is an important quality and often overlooked in our increasingly aggressive world.
James 3:16-17 shows us the benefit of kindness. "For wherever there is jealousy and
selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from
above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to
others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always
sincere."
We recently talked to Mark about this, and this is what he had to share:

You say you want to grow in knowledge.
With so many "hot-takes" and opinions surrounding us every day, a solid foundation in
knowledge of the Scripture is invaluable. Proverbs 24:5 tells us, "The wise are mightier
than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger."
Cameron shared with us recently about the importance of knowledge:

You indicate that you want to grow in peace.
And that feels more necessary in this world now more than ever. Maybe you long to feel
the promise of Jesus in John 14:27 fulfilled in your life. “Peace I leave with you; my peace
I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled,
neither let them be afraid.”
Taylor spoke with us about peace recently. Here's what she had to say:

You tell us you want to grow in perseverance.
This is a noble, but challenging desire because perseverance often grows through trial
and difficulty. Like it says in James 1:12: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast
under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God
has promised to those who love him."
We recently talked to Aaron about this, and here's what he had to say:

You tell us that you want to grow in self-control.
And in our world which celebrates embracing your desires, the benefits of self-control are
being forgotten. Like it says in Proverbs 16:32, "Better to be patient than powerful;
better to have self-control than to conquer a city."
We recently talked with Laura about this:
