THE IMPACT OF EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ON THE TIME MANAGEMENT OF SENIOR

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT QUEZON CAMARINES HIGH SCHOOL. INC.

Chapter 1

Introduction

-All of students mess there activities because they’re focused in extracurricular activities in
time management they need to balance activities and there performance

- Right balance for activities like home works and to influence student ability to manage
there effectively

RESEARCHGAP

Some students struggle and experience cramming because of extracurricular activities so

we make this study to identify effective strategy

Problem and solution

-They need to balance they activities and solution they need to find effective strategies

Theoretical framework these theoretical framework because they provide a strong

foundation for understanding how extracurricular activities influence the time
management of Senior school students. Each theory explains different aspects of how
student develop and apply time management skills in response to their environment, goals,
and priorities

-in theoretical framework this is have an 3 part which is Social-Ecological Theory, Goal-
Setting Theory of Time Management Goals, Pebble Jar Theory

Social ecological theory – Environment influence student’s behavior and time management

Social goal-setting of time management goals- clear goals improve productively and
efficiency

Pebble jar theory – This theory is popular for time management, The theory is about a big
glass pickles jar is filled with a large number

The framework analyzes the impact of extracurricular activities on senior high school
students time management skills

Conceptual framework

Input – it base in our sop

Process – using quantitative descriptive design us structure survey question

Output- To propose effective strategies to improve the student time management

SOP

What is the demographic profile of the respondents using:

Name (Optiona); and

Grade Level

2. What are the impacts of extracurricular activities on time management?

3. What are the extracurricular activities that affects the time management of senior high
school students?

4. What possible strategies can be recommended in time management of the participated

on extracurricular activities by senior high school students?

Scope- The data collection was limited to 100 respondents which was randomly selected
from Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of Quezon Camarines High School, Inc, Poblacion
Ilaod, Ragay Camarines Sur, school year 2024-2025.

LIMITATIONS

They also have more experience in participating in extracurricular activities and balancing
their time management compared to lower grade level

Imitations – The data collected was limit to 100 respondents which was randomly selected
from grade 11 and grade 12 student

Chapter 3 methodology

In this chapter present the researchers gather data needed to for the study, this chapter also
provide steps taken by the researchers before establishing the survey and its describe the
method of research, population, sample size, and sampling technique, respondent’s
description, research instrument, data-gathering procedure and statistical treatment of data

Population, Sample Size 50 , and Sampling Technique sample random sampling

The 100 randomly selected senior high school students of Quezon Camarines High School
who are respondents in this study who are the involved in extracurricular activities
Using a quantitative descriptive design, a structured survey questionnaire was developed,
validated by experts, and approved by the thesis adviser.A total of 100 respondents were
randomly selected from a population of 111 students using simple random sampling. After
obtaining permission from school authorities, the researchers distributed and collected the
questionnaires personally to ensure a high retrieval rate.

Description of respondents

Out of the 113 students enrolled in Quezon Camarines High School, 100 students in the
senior high school department were chosen at random using random sampling to participate
in this study. They served as the main sources of information for this study, which is to
understand the possible effects of extracurricular activities on senior high school students’
time management. The researchers selected them because, at the senior high school level,
they have the expertise, experience, and capacity to supply accurate and trustworthy data
pertinent to the study. They were chosen at random because targeting every kid from the
specified institution would require more time or effort.

Research instrument

In this part of methodology the research instrument we use the likert scale (5) Strongly
Agree, (4) Agree, (3) Neutral, (2) Disagree, and (1) Strongly Disagree. This part included
rating scale items where respondents could choose recommendations and strategies to
balance their academic responsibilities with extracurricular involvement.

Data gathering procedure

So firstly were going to distribute a liker scale questionnaire to the respondents such as
senior high student for data gathering to identify the impact of extracurricular.

Statistical treatment of data

the data were then analyzed using tallying, frequency distribution, descriptive statistics, and
measures of central tendency and variability. The findings were interpreted to understand
the impact of extracurricular activities on time management and recommend strategies for
improvement.

Our tally we just check the questionnaire and count how many check we got
Frequency distribution This was used to identify the average and typical individual. This
average value can then be used to provide simple distribution of an entire population or a
sample

Descriptive Statistics. This was used to describe the basic features of the data in a study. It
provides simple summaries about the sample and the measures. Together with simple
graphics analysis, they form the basis of virtually every quantitative analysis of data.

Measure of Central Tendency This was used to identify the average and typical individual.
This average value can then be used to provide simple distribution of an entire population or
a sample

Mean. Results of our observation

Mode. This was use to find Highest point of the frequencies distribution curve.

Measures of Variability/Dispersion. This was used to provide descriptive information about

the dispersion of scores within data.

Range. The range is the highest value minus the lowest value, This was used to describes
how well the central tendency represents the data.

Standard Deviation. This was used to provide an indication of how far the individual
responses to a question vary or deviate from the mean.

What is the research design

Qualitative they’re getting data by experimenting, while quantitative the data where
collected by respondents that’s why our research design is quantitative

What kind of quantitative

Under the quantitative design we use descriptive it is use to describe the data gathered the
questionnaires given to the responded

As a student, organizing our days will eliminate stress and ensure that we are productive.

To interpret the questionnaire and tally (maybe)

Table 2.0- the impact of extracurricular activities on the time management the highest
indicator is extracurricular activities skills shows that the highest mean is 3.42 more of the
respondents strongly agreed that the extracurricular activities help develop better time
management skills some of the the respondent agreed that they find it difficult to meet
academic deadlines

Table 2.1 The impact of extracurricular activities on the time management in terms of stress
management shows that the highest mean is 2.19 more of the respondents agreed that they
feel stressed when they organizedy time for extracurricular activities and school works,
some of the respondents is agreed beca5they use extracurricular activities as way to release
academic stress

Chapter 4 Results and discussion

Table1

Part 1-The highest mean is the time management skills the average mean is 3.37

Part2- The highest mean is arts and creative skills the average mean is 3.16

Part3- The highest mean is Time management technique the average mean is 3.13
