Purpose:

The main goal of a descriptive text is to describe a person, place,


object, experience, or event in vivid detail so that the reader can form a
clear picture in their mind. It uses sensory language (sight, sound, smell,
touch, taste) and figurative expressions to bring the subject to life.

Descriptive texts often appear in fiction, travel writing, product reviews, and
personal reflections.

1. A Travel Blog Describing the Beaches of the Maldives

 Type: Non-fiction (informational/experiential)

 Description Example: “The turquoise waters shimmer under the


blazing sun, while soft, white sands stretch endlessly along the
