Expanding Theoretical Framework
Brief Summary of the Research Work Carried (about 300-500 words):
Since my last progress report, I have presented two research papers at national conferences, which
provided valuable feedback and helped me strengthen my research. The first paper, titled “Beyond
Human Voices: Reimagining the Historical Origins of Communication through New Animism and
Eco Semiotics”, was presented at the National Conference on Exploring Communication’s
Historical Origin (ECHO 2025), organized by the Department of Journalism & Mass
Communication, SMeH, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies, Faridabad.
The second paper, titled “The Spectacle of Identity: A Critical Examination of Media Portrayals
and the Construction of the 21st Century Indian Woman”, was presented at the 2nd CWSD
National Conference on Women: The State of the 21st Century Indian Woman, organized by the
Centre for Women’s Studies & Development (CWSD), Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. In
addition, a book chapter I authored, titled "National Education Policy 2020: A Pathway to
Achieving Sustainable Development Goals", has been accepted for publication. I am currently
working on developing my theoretical framework, drawing from Mark Fisher’s concept of

Capitalist Realism to analyze the influence of neoliberal thought. I am also engaging with Deleuze
and Guattari’s concepts from A Thousand Plateaus (1980), such as rhizome, assemblage, machine,
and flow, to understand complex social and theoretical structures. Jacques Derrida’s idea of
Dissemination (1981) further supports my approach by highlighting the openness and instability of
meaning. Together, these frameworks are helping to shape the core direction of my research.
