1. What is a PCB and how does it work?

Answer:
A PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a flat board made of insulating material with conductive pathways
etched onto its surface. Components like resistors, capacitors, and ICs are mounted on it and
connected through the pathways to form a functioning circuit. PCBs are used to mechanically
support and electrically connect electronic components.

2. What are the types of PCBs?

Answer:
There are mainly four types:
• Single-sided PCB
• Double-sided PCB
• Multilayer PCB
• Rigid/Flexible/Rigid-flex PCB
Each type is used based on the complexity and application of the circuit.

3. What is the difference between Through-Hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT)?
Answer:
Through-hole components have leads that go through holes in the PCB and are soldered on the
other side.
SMT components are placed directly on the surface of the PCB and are smaller, allowing for
compact designs. SMT is widely used for high-density circuit boards.

4. What is impedance in a PCB and why is it important?

Answer:
Impedance is the resistance to AC current and is crucial for high-frequency signals like in RF PCBs.
Controlling impedance ensures signal integrity, minimizes loss, and prevents reflections or
distortions in communication signals.

Why do you want to join our company?

Answer:
Epitome Components is a pioneer in PCB manufacturing in India. I’m impressed by your quality
standards and diverse client base. Being a fresher, I’m looking for a company where I can learn,
grow, and contribute, and I believe Epitome provides that perfect blend of technology and
opportunity.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Answer:
In five years, I see myself as a skilled electronics engineer with deep knowledge of PCB design and
production, possibly leading a team or working on complex product development projects at
Epitome or in a similar technical role.

What is the difference between analog and digital signals?

Answer:
Analog signals are continuous and vary over time, while digital signals are discrete and represented
in binary (0s and 1s).

7. What is the function of a capacitor in a circuit?

Answer:
A capacitor stores electrical energy and is used for filtering, smoothing voltage, timing applications,
and decoupling in circuits.
8. Explain the difference between microcontroller and microprocessor.
Answer:
A microcontroller has CPU, memory, and I/O peripherals integrated on a single chip, used for
embedded applications.
A microprocessor is just the CPU, and it needs external memory and I/O. It's used in more complex
systems like computers.

9. What are vias in PCB design?

Answer:
Vias are holes in PCBs used to connect different layers. Types include:
• Through-hole via
• Blind via
• Buried via

10. What are Gerber files?

Answer:
Gerber files are standard file formats used to describe PCB layers like copper tracks, drill holes,
solder mask, and silkscreen. Manufacturers use them to fabricate the PCB.

11. What is the difference between active and passive components?

Answer:
Active components (like transistors, diodes, ICs) can control current flow.
Passive components (like resistors, capacitors, inductors) can’t control current and only respond to
signals.

12. What is SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio)?

Answer:
SNR is the ratio of useful signal power to the background noise. A higher SNR means better signal
quality.

13. Explain Ohm’s Law.

Answer:
Ohm's Law states that V = I × R, where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance.

How do you handle pressure or tight deadlines?

Answer:
I stay calm and focused, break tasks into manageable steps, and prioritize my work. I also don’t
hesitate to ask for help or collaborate when needed.

7. What motivates you?

Answer:
Learning new technologies, solving technical problems, and contributing to real-world applications
motivate me. Seeing my work have an impact gives me a sense of achievement.

I have always believed that internships are a great way to apply the knowledge from the classroom
to real-world experience. It not only boost our confidence but also help in developing the soft skills
that are much needed at workplace and in leadership positions.
Driven by these thoughts, I have gained meaningful work exposure in professional setup(s) during
my internship(s) at Electrosoft System. During this time, I contributed towards the PLC
PROGRAMMING.

As far as academic projects are concerned, I have experienced that project work enables students to
think out of the box owing to the creative levels of imagination. Right from choosing a topic from an
area of interest, project work involves finding creative solutions to various project-related problems
and many technical challenges.

Yes Sir/Mam,

1. Can you throw some light on the day-to-day responsibilities of this job ?

2. What important qualities are you looking in a person who you would want to excel in this role ?

3. What are your expectations from this role in the first 90 days ?

4. How would you describe the culture of the company ?

5. Who do you consider your top competitor and why ?

I enjoy working in a team or a group and I feel my collaborative nature is my biggest strength.
During every single academic project, I worked side-by-side with every member involved to achieve
the target. By nature, I am an empathetic person and I can relate to people and understand their
needs easily. Also, I work well under pressure and I have never missed a deadline in my academic
years.

My weakness is that I can be overly critical of myself. On completing a project, I always have a
feeling that it could have been done in a better way. This happens even after I receive a positive
response which leads me to overwork and often I am left feeling burned out.

3. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Answer:
Strengths: Fast learner, detail-oriented, good at teamwork and troubleshooting circuits.
Weakness: Sometimes I take more time to perfect a task, but I’m working on managing time better
while still maintaining quality.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH?

MY GREATEST STRENGTH IS MY ABILITY TO STAY ORGANIZED AND MANAGE MULTIPLE TASKS
AT ONCE. I HAVE THE ABILITY TO BREAK COMPLEX PROJECTS INTO SMALLER TASKS AND
FINDING EFFICIENT SOLUTIONS TO COMPLETE THEM.
