QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE SYLLABUS

TOPIC-1: Number System

DAY – 1:
Problems on Divisibility Rules
Rule- Learn the divisibility rules to understand the concepts of number divisibility,
cyclicity in unit digits, and how to find remainders using various mathematical rules.
Example- In a 7-digit number 89476*2, what is the smallest possible value of * such that
the number is divisible by 8?

DAY – 2:
Finding Units Digit
Rule- Learn cyclicity in unit digits.
Example- If x = (164)169 + (333)337 – (727)726 then what is the unit digit of x?

DAY – 3:
Problems on Lcm & Hcf
Rule- Apply the concepts of LCM and HCF to find the LCM and HCF of numbers and
understand their applications.
Example- The product of two numbers is 720. If their LCM is 360, then what will be the
HCF of these two numbers?

DAY – 4:
Number of factors
Rule- Apply the concepts of Number of factors and understand their applications.
Example- Find the total number of factors of 3600?

TOPIC-2: Time and Work

DAY – 5:
Efficiency Based Questions
Rule- Common Multiple Methods.
Example- A can do work in 12 days. B can do work in 18 days. After 5 days of working
together, how much work will be left?

DAY – 6:
Comparative Based Questions
Rule- N×T×efficiency = Constant
Example- 20 men can finish a work in 220 days, but at the end of 90 days, 20 additional
men are employed. In how many more days will the work be completed?

DAY – 7:
Pipe and Cisterns
Rule- Application of time and work .
Example- A pipe can fill a tank in 20 minutes, but an outlet pipe can empty it in 28
minutes. When both the pipes are opened, then in how much time the tank will be filled?
TOPIC-4: TIME & DISTANCE
Day-8
Problems on speed-distance-time
Rule- Distance = Speed × Time.
Example- Ram rides at the rate of 36 km/h.Find the time that Ram will take to cover a
distance of 72 km.

Day-9
Average Speed
Rule- Average speed = Total distance/ Total Time.
Example – Ram travels 24 m in 3s and 15 m in 2s. What is the average speed of the object?

Day-10
Directly and inversely proportional
Rule- Distance = Constant & Time = Constant.
Example – The ratio of speed of three racers is 5:2:1. What is the respective ratio of time
taken by the three racers to cover the same distance?

Day- 11
Problems on Train
Rule- Time to Cross = Total Length / Relative Speed,
Relative speed: - Opposite Direction – (V1+V2), Same Direction – (V1-V2)
Example- A man rows a boat a certain distance downstream in 9 hours, while it takes 18
hours to row the same distance upstream. How many hours will it take him to row three-fifth
of the same distance in still water?

Day- 12
Problems on boats and streams & Problems on circular tracks, races
Rule- Upstream = (u−v) km/hr, Downstream = (u+v)Km/hr
where “u” is the speed of the boat in still water and “v” is the speed of the stream
Example- A man rows a boat a certain distance downstream in 9 hours, while it takes 18
hours to row the same distance upstream. How many hours will it take him to row three-fifth
of the same distance in still water?

TOPIC-2: Data Interpretation

Day- 13
Basic concept of DI & Charts (Tabular, BAR)
Rule- apply basic rules of percentage, ratio, and average.
Example- The bar graph given below shows the sales of books (in thousand number) from
six branches of a publishing company during two consecutive years 2000 and 2001. Sales
of Books (in thousand numbers) from Six Branches - B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 and B6 of a
publishing Company in 2000 and 2001.solve Data Interpretation (DI) questions
Day- 14
Charts (LINE,PI) & Mixed DI
Rule- Understand various charts and apply basic rules of percentage, ratio, and average to
solve Data Interpretation (DI) questions.
Example- Same as above

Day-15
Miscellaneous Questions.
Rule- Same as above
Example- Same as above

TOPIC-5: PERMUTATIONS AND COMBINATIONS

Day-16
Fundamental Theorem of Athematic.
Rule- Apply the Rule of Multiplication and addition.
Example: - How many 3-digit number can be formed with the digits 5, 6, 2, 3, 7 and 9
which are divisible by 5 and none of its digit is repeated?

Day-17
Concept of Arrangement.
Rule- Permutation refers to the act of arranging all the elements of a set in a specific
sequence or order.
n
Pr = (n!) / (n-r)!
Example- How many 4-digit numbers can be formed by using the digits 1 to 9 if repetition
of digits is not allowed?

Day-18
Problems on selections
Rule- A combination refers to choosing r elements from a set of n distinct elements,
without regard to the order of selection.
n
Cr = (n!) / (n-r)!r!
Example- In how many ways a committee consisting of 5 men and 3 women, can be
chosen from 9 men and 12 women?

Day-19
Miscellaneous Questions.
TOPIC-6: Probability
Day-20
Concept of probability
Rule- Probability (P) = Number of Favourable Outcomes / Total Number of Outcomes
Example- Find the probability of ‘getting 3 on rolling a die
Sample Space = S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
event of getting 3. So favourable outcomes = 1
P = 1/6

Day-21
Miscellaneous Questions.
Rule- Same as above
Example- Same as above

TOPIC-7: Syllogism
Day-22
Statement and Conclusion
Rule- Apply the rules of All, Some, Any, Some not etc.
Example-
Statements:
Only a few white are Pink.
Only a few brown are green.
Few Yellow are Brown.
Conclusions:
I. Some white can be brown.
II. Some brown can never be green.

Day-23
Miscellaneous Questions.
Rule- Same as above
Example- Same as above

TOPIC-7: Calendar
Day-24
Understand the concept of Calendar.
Rule- Apply the rules of odd days.
Example- What was the day of the week on 28th May, 2006?
