Energizer 1: Piglet Relay Race

Required Materials:
46 small cones or markers
46 toy piglets or any small animal figurines (optional)

Steps:
1. Set up a relay race course in the classroom using the cones or markers to create
a start and finish line.
2. Divide the class into small teams of 4-5 students.
3. Each team will take turns racing to the finish line while carrying a toy piglet (or just
pretending to carry one).
4. When they reach the finish line, they must "wean" the piglet by performing a
simple task related to preparing piglets for weaning, such as naming an essential
supply or equipment needed.
5. After completing the task, they will race back to tag the next teammate.
6. The first team to finish the relay wins.
Relation to Topic: This energizer reinforces the concepts of preparing piglets for
weaning by engaging students in a physical activity that requires them to think about
the supplies and equipment needed during the process. It helps solidify their
understanding through movement and teamwork.
Energizer 2: Supply Chain Charades

Steps:
1. Explain to the students that they will be acting out different supplies and
equipment used in preparing piglets for weaning without speaking.
2. Each student will take turns coming to the front of the class and acting out a
specific item while the rest of the class guesses what it is.
3. Encourage students to use their bodies to illustrate the items creatively, such as
mimicking the action of using a feeding bottle or setting up a weaning pen.
4. Discuss briefly after each round why that item is important in the weaning process.
Relation to Topic: This energizer encourages students to think critically about the
various supplies and equipment involved in weaning piglets. It enhances their
understanding through physical expression and peer interaction.
Energizer 3: Weaning Word Association
Steps:
1. Have students sit in a circle.
2. Start with the teacher saying a word related to preparing piglets for weaning, such
as "feed."
3. The next student must quickly say a word that they associate with "feed," like
"nutrition," and then the following student must say a word associated with
"nutrition," and so on.
4. If a student hesitates for too long or repeats a word, they are out.
5. Continue until one student remains or after a few rounds, discussing the
connections between the words.
Relation to Topic: This energizer helps students connect various concepts related
to the weaning process through word association, reinforcing their understanding of
the vocabulary and themes associated with preparing piglets for weaning.
