SUB:- WEARING OF LOOSE FITTING DIGITAL PA RN COMBAT
DRESS IN BSF
The new Digital Pattern Camouflage Cloth has been introduced in BSF. This
cloth has been patented/ registered under Office of Controller General of Patents,
Design & Trade Mark, Department for Promotion of lndustry & lnternal Trade,
Ministry of Commerce & lndustry, Govt. of lndia as design to "Textile Fabric" under
class 05-05 bearing No. 411248-001 dated 21 March 2024 in the name of Director
General, Border Security Force.
2. This new Digital Pattern Camouflage Cloth will be stitched for Loose Fitting
Combat dress (LFCD) printed with FHQ formation and stitched as per FHQ (Prov
Dte-CTS Section) Signal No. Q-3801 dated 08 May 2025 and no other paftern will be
stitched by Force Personnel as the stitching pattern is itself patented/ registered
under Office of Controller General of Patents, Design & Trade Mark, Department for
Promotion of lndustry & lnternal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & lndustry, Govt. of
lndia to "Textile Fabric" under class 02-02 bearing No. 411246-001 dated 2"1 March
2024 in lhe name of Director General, Border Security Force. The above patents/
registration have been circulated to field formations vide FHQ (Prov Dte-CTS
Section) Signal No Q-3801 dated 27 May 2024.

3. Non official pattern will not be worn by any Force Personnel. Commanders at
all levels i.e. Coy/ UniV Sector/ Frontier/ Command need to ensure compliance of
prescribed dress code.
4. ln supersession to all previous instructions issued regarding "wearing of loose
fitting combat dress" and as approved by the Competent Authority following
regulations are hereby issued for wearing of new LFCD digital pattern on various
occasions along with olive Green colour round neck T-Shirt inside.
5. A patch of BSF monogram embroidered in yellow thread on black background
will be stitched in upper right chest above the name tab (Photograph for reference is
attached). ln case of GO's, this will be made of golden Zari on black background and
will be worn with Velcro (AppxJA"). This will be part of the uniform for all force
personnel irrespectively of the place or nature of duty.
CD.I NORMAL AND ROUTINE DUTIES ON BORDERS/ ANO ROLE / IS
DUTY (Reference AppxJ'B", "C" and "D").
(a) Loose Fitting Digital Pattern Combat Dress tucked-out with BSF
logo. (Photograph aftached):-
(i) The size of the logo will be 3.5 cms in length and 2.8
cms in height.
(ii) The logo will be printed at the centre upper side of
button of front two top pockets of shirt and side two
pockets of trouser of all ranks.
(iii) Colour of the logo will be black.
(b) Shirt Tucked-out at waist.
(Gorget patches in siver zari with Black
background to be worn by Officers of the rank of
Commandant & above as per the photographs

(c) Trouser Tucked-in at Ankle (with the approved pattern of
stitching) by all rank irrespective of the cadre
authorized with Boot DMS (High Ankle)/Boot Ankle
Black(HDP)/ Boot Ankle (duck)Jungle Shoe.
Personnel authorized with Only Derby Shoes will
wear camouflage pant tucked out at bottom without
elastic.
(d) Headgear Moneky cap of new Digital Pattern Camouflage Cloth
for all duties upto the rank of SM and Beret cap for
Officers be worn. Khakhi Pagri will be worn by Sikh
personnel.
(e) Rank Appauletes Embroidered badges of rank in silver
Badges colour silk thread on new digital camouflage cloth will
(Appauletes) be worn by all Officers and SOs.
White Colour Cheveron stitched on Khaki cloth to be
worn by all NCOs.
(0 Shoulder Shoulder title in silver colour thread on camouflage
Title (BSF) cloth will be worn by Second-ln-Command and below.
(S) Formation Zaril Non-metallic formation sign to be worn

(h) Lanyard No Lanyard will be worn with LFCD.
(i) Ribbon Ribbon of appropriate medals as ordered by
respective BROs/SROs/FROs be worn.
(j) Name Tab Name tab on cloth stitched on Velcro (Name to be
embroidered in yellow thread over Black background
in English for the rank upto SM. For GO's, this will be
made of golden Zari on black background and will be
worn with Velcro.).

The size of the name plate will be 12 cms in length,
2.5 cms in breadth, 3mm zari border (width), font in
capital (13mm x 5mm), Blood group- right top corner
in red colour (5mm x 3mm).
(k) Waist wear : Synthetic green web belt to be worn inside
(l) Footwear Black Boot Ankle DMS/Jungle Shoes/Tactical
BoouDerby Shoes as per authorization.
Personnel authorized with Only Derby Shoes will
wear camouflage pant tucked out at bottom without
elastic.
CD.II. OUTDOOR EXERCISES/LONG RANGE PATROLLING (LRPV FPET/
MOVE FOR OPS/ GUARD DUTIES FOR LONGER DURATION

(a) Loose Fitting Digital Pattern Combat Dress tucked-in with BSF logo and
synthetic web equipment (as applicable) on it. (Photograph attached).
(b) Trouser The lower portion of the trouser should be tucked in
with the High Ankle Boot or Web Anklet to be used on
need basis.
Personnel authorized with only Derby Shoe will wear
camouflage pant tucked out at bottom without elastic
