Landing Page
Welcome to the Library Management System. This system provides real-time monitoring,
book tracking, and administrative controls for efficient management of the library resources.

Landing Page Features:

 Login Button: Navigate to proceed for admin log in. Requires username and
password.
 Book Keep Button: Navigate to the logbook page for members and book search.

Student/Member Side
Real-Time Occupancy Monitoring

USN Login for Members:

1. Login using USN:


o Navigate to the occupancy monitoring page.
o Enter your Universal Student Number (USN) in the provided field.
o Click on the "Login" button.
o No password is required for login.
2. Logout using USN:
o Navigate to the occupancy monitoring page.
o Enter your Universal Student Number (USN) in the provided field.
o Click on the "Logout" button.
3. Recording Details:
o Upon login, your details including the USN, date, and time of login are
recorded automatically in the member information section.

o Upon logout, your status is automatically updated form Logged_in to
Logged_out.
o The system tracks the real-time occupancy of the library for better
management and resource allocation.

Book Tracking and Searching

Search for Books:

1. Search Interface:
o Navigate to the book search page.
o Use the search bar to enter keywords, book titles, authors, or ISBN numbers.
2. Viewing Book Details:
o Using keyword, all books related to the word is displayed.
o Click on a book from the search results to view detailed information such as
availability, location, and borrowing history.

Admin Side
Admin Login

Steps to Login:

1. Navigate to the admin login page.


2. Enter your admin username and password.
3. Click on the "Login" button to access the admin dashboard.
4. If password is forgotten, click forgot password.

(After logging in, the system redirects you to the admin information and admin dashboard)

Dashboard

1. Admin Information:
o Displays the information for logged in admin that is currently in session.

Dashboard Navigation:

2. Overview:
o Shows the total number of books.
o Displays the total real-time occupants.
o Lists the total borrowed books.
o Lists the total books returned.
3. Admin Details:
o Shows the list of all admins.
o Click add new admin, to add a new admin.

4. Occupancy Report:
o Shows the recorded data on student login occupancy.
o Below the record, there is a button called "Save Occupancy Data" to generate
the report.
o The report is in Excel format and is downloaded to your computer when
clicked.

Admin Account Creation

Creating a New Admin Account:

1. Navigate to Admin Management:


o Go to the admin management section within the admin dashboard and click
“add new admin”.
2. Fill in Details:
o Enter the new admin's username, password, first name, middle name, last
name and email and other required details.
o Click on the "Add admin" button.
3. Upload Image:
o Upload admin’s image on the upload image section.

4. Account Confirmation:
o A confirmation message will appear, indicating the successful creation of the
new admin account.

Student/Member Registration

Adding Students/Member:

1. Navigate to Members Directory:


o Go to the add member section within the members directory.
2. Register New Member:
o Enter the member’s USN and other necessary details.
o Upload image of the new member.
o Click on the "Add Member" button.
o The student is now registered in the system.

Members Directory

Viewing and Managing Members:

1. Members Directory Navigation:


o Shows all students and members with their details.
2. Member Search:
o Navigate the search bar in the member’s directory to find specific member.
3. Actions:
o Each member entry has options to "Show QR," "View," "Edit," and "Delete."

Books Directory

Managing Books:

1. Books Directory Navigation:


o Shows all books in the library inventory with details such as book image, title,
author, ISBN, category, status, copies, remarks, and action.
2. Book Search:
o Navigate the search bar in the books directory and use keywords to find
specific books.
3. Actions:
o Each book entry has options to "View," "Edit," and "Delete."
o You can also add new books.

Adding a New Book:

1. Navigate to Books Directory Management:


o Go to the add book section within the admin dashboard.
2. Enter Book Details:
o Fill in the book's title, author, ISBN, and other relevant details.
o Click on the "Add Book" button to save the new book in the database.

Deleting a Book:

1. Find the Book:


o Use the search function to locate the book you wish to delete.
2. Delete Book:
o Click on the "Delete" button next to the book's entry.
o Confirm the deletion in the popup that appears.

Updating Book Information:

1. Locate the Book:


o Search for the book you want to update.
2. Update Details:
o Click on the "Edit" button.
o Modify the necessary information and click on "Save Changes."

Book Borrowing and Returning

Borrowing a Book:

1. Separate Login for Borrowing Students:


o Navigate to the book borrowing section.
o Use the QR scanner for faster login.

2. Processing Borrowing:
o After logging in, the member's details are displayed.
o Use the search bar to find the book.
o Click on the "Borrow" button next to the book's details to borrow the book.

3. Viewing Borrowed Books:
o The page shows all borrowed books of the member.
o Click "Return" to return a borrowed book.
o Overdue books are marked, and a "Pay" button is available for fines.

Borrowed List

Viewing Borrowed Books:

1. Borrowed List Navigation:


o Shows all total borrowed books and their details.
2. Print Borrowed Books List:
o Click “Print Borrow List” to print the borrowed book list.

Returned Books

Viewing Returned Books:

1. Returned Books Navigation:


o Shows all returned books and their details.
2. Print Returned Books List:
o Click “Print Return List” to print the returned book list.

Admin Settings

Adjusting Settings:

1. Admin Settings Navigation:


o Adjust overdue fine amounts.
o Set book borrowing duration.

Logging Out:

1. Logout:
o Click on the "Logout" button to exit the admin dashboard.

Development Team Button:

1. Team Details:
o Every page has a "Development Team" button.
o Click this button to view details of all team members involved in creating this
project system.
