Functional principle
Screen with touch-sensi- The screen is a demirrored 20.1” TFT LC color display with a resolution of
tive surface 1680 x 1050 pixels.
Processor unit The processor unit consists of the motherboard and a hard disk. The operat-
ing system is Windows XP.
The motherboard is fitted with an INTEL processor running at a speed of 1.4
GHz. The system bus runs at a speed of 533 MHz. The motherboard features
two DDR2 SO-DIMM slots, and can be upgraded to a maximum 2 GB of
RAM.
The motherboard provides the following ports:
– RS232 (3x)
– DVI (3x)
– LAN (2x)
– USB 2.0 (6x)
– System connection (supply voltage)
2.0_0000000153_28.05.09
During the boot phase software is searched for on the following media, in the
order specified (default):
1. via the USB port, e.g. on a floppy disk, a memory stick, CD-ROM or DVD-
ROM
2. over the network
3. on the hard disk
The Daughter Board PCB M10.1 is powered even when the unit is switched
off. The node controller is a 16-bit RISC microcontroller.
Other key functional units on the Daughter Board PCB M10.1 are:
– the power-up logic and power-up current limiter
– the ports
– the drivers for the LEDs
– the node controller
The 24 V DC supply voltage is tapped from the system connector and routed
to power-up logic and power-up current limiter circuits. The voltage is for-
warded to the Mainboard PCB.
The LEDs are controlled by way of the microcontroller and downstream FET
switching stages.

Introduction The following section describes the removal and fitting of the alarm luminaire.
View
Preconditions The following preconditions must be met for removal and fitting of the alarm
luminaire:
• The unit is freely accessible.
• The device has been disconnected from the power supply.
2.0_0000000153_28.05.09
4. Remove the screws on the left and right of the alarm luminaire cover, as
shown in Fig. 8/1 by way of example.
9. Carefully lift the two LED strips, and then disconnect the wide connector
(Fig. 11/1) from the short LED strip.
2.0_0000000153_28.05.09
Fitting 1. Refitting is carried out in the reverse order of the procedure described in
the Removal section. When refitting, make sure the cover locators (Fig.
12/1) engage in the diffuser sockets (Fig. 12/2).
NOTE
Electronic components are classed as special waste. When disposing of
electronic modules, observe local waste disposal regulations.

Introduction The following section describes the removal and fitting of the rotary encoder.
View
Preconditions The following preconditions must be met for removal and fitting of the trim
knob:
• The unit is freely accessible.
• The device has been disconnected from the power supply.
2.0_0000000153_28.05.09
4. Remove the three screws (Fig. 15/1) from the rotary encoder.
Fitting
NOTE
The rotary encoder screws must be correctly assigned, because of their dif-
ferent lengths.
1. Position the rotary encoder and secure it by one short screw (Fig. 16/1)
and two longer screws (Fig. 16/2).
NOTE
Electronic components are classed as special waste. When disposing of
electronic modules, observe local waste disposal regulations.

2 Electrical safety
The following section details the tests of electrical safety to VDE 0751 and IEC 60 601-1 (or UL
60 601-1). Which standard is applicable depends on national regulations (for example, VDE 0751
applies in Germany, whereas the ÖVE-MG 751 law is applicable in Austria). Some technical
terms may vary in accordance with the test equipment used.
