Functional principle

Screen with touch-sensi- The screen is a demirrored 20.1” TFT LC color display with a resolution of
tive surface 1680 x 1050 pixels.

There is a touch-sensitive SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) covering over the

screen.
The touch-screen is fitted with piezo-electric converters which emit ultrasonic
waves (horizontally and vertically). The ultrasonic waves are reflected from
the surface and detected on the opposite side. This produces an evenly dis-
tributed pattern all across the touch-screen. When the touch-screen is
touched by a finger or some soft object, some of the waves are absorbed.
The pattern is changed, enabling the position to be determined.
Communication between the touch-sensitive covering and the processor unit
is controlled by an internal RS232 interface.

Processor unit The processor unit consists of the motherboard and a hard disk. The operat-
ing system is Windows XP.
The motherboard is fitted with an INTEL processor running at a speed of 1.4
GHz. The system bus runs at a speed of 533 MHz. The motherboard features
two DDR2 SO-DIMM slots, and can be upgraded to a maximum 2 GB of
RAM.
The motherboard provides the following ports:
– RS232 (3x)
– DVI (3x)
– LAN (2x)
– USB 2.0 (6x)
– System connection (supply voltage)

Daughter Board PCB

M10.1

Fig. 4 Block diagram

The Daughter Board PCB M10.1 is powered even when the unit is switched
off. The node controller is a 16-bit RISC microcontroller.
Other key functional units on the Daughter Board PCB M10.1 are:
– the power-up logic and power-up current limiter
– the ports
– the drivers for the LEDs
– the node controller

The 24 V DC supply voltage is tapped from the system connector and routed
to power-up logic and power-up current limiter circuits. The voltage is for-
warded to the Mainboard PCB.

The LEDs are controlled by way of the microcontroller and downstream FET
switching stages.

Enter the serial number. The serial number is located on the label at rear panel.

5 1.2 Software version [______txt]

Enter the software version of the Infinity Explorer.

The software version is shown during the startup sequence. Transfer from test step 3.2.1.

5 1.3 Accompanying documents [_______OK]

Instructions for Use manual is available (according to user/owner).

2 Electrical safety
The following section details the tests of electrical safety to VDE 0751 and IEC 60 601-1 (or UL
60 601-1). Which standard is applicable depends on national regulations (for example, VDE 0751
applies in Germany, whereas the ÖVE-MG 751 law is applicable in Austria). Some technical
terms may vary in accordance with the test equipment used.

2.1 Tests according to VDE 0751

5 2.1.1 Protective earth conductor [_______OK]

The value of the protective earth conductor resistance must not exceed 0.3 ohms (including the
power supply cord).
(Check function)

2.1.2 Device leakage current

5 [Link] Recurrent measurement [______μA]

The recurrent measurement value must not exceed 500 μA.

2.2 Test according to IEC 60 601-1 or UL 60 601-1

IEC 60 601-1 is an international standard for type testing of medical devices. It is not intended for
recurrent measurements. Most countries do not have recurrent measurements for medical
devices as is the case in Germany (VDE 0751). Therefore section 18 (protective earth conductor
test) and section 19 (leakage current test) of the IEC 60 601-1 are used.

5 2.2.1 Protective earth conductor [______Ohm]

The value of the protection earth conductor resistance must not exceed 0.2 ohms (including the
power supply cord).
(Check function)

Infinity Explorer C700 for IT Version 1.0

3/5
2.2.2 Earth leakage current

5 [Link] Normal condition (N.C.) according to IEC 60 601-1 [______μA]

The value must not exceed 500 μA.

5 [Link] Single fault condition (S.F.C.) according to IEC 60 601-1 [______μA]

1. Neutral conductor open (N.O.)

The value must not exceed 1000 μA.

5 [Link] Normal condition (N.C.) at 120 VAC according to UL 60 601-1 [______μA]

The value must not exceed 300 μA at 120 VAC.

5 [Link] Normal condition (N.C.) at 240 VAC according to UL 60 601-1 [______μA]

The value must not exceed 300 μA at 240 VAC.
