[ Stage ]
Jollibe: Good afternoon and welcome to the Polo Health and Fitness Festival! Are you ready to hear the
stories of other people’s journeys to a better life?
{crowd cheers/claps}
Jollibe: We have our first guest, Ms. Malapit. She is a single mom who used to struggle with giving her
child a healthy and balanced lifestyle. How are you today Ms. Malapit?
Trixie: Hello, I’m quite fine!
Jollibe: Would you care to tell us your story?
Trixie: Sure. As you know life as a single mom isn’t easy, due to lack of time for my child, I have failed to
notice that her health was getting bad because of the diet and lifestyle we had.
[cue scenario #1]
Trixie: Anak, I must go now, just buy food sa school canteen niyo.
Shalom: Bye ma!
[school]
Bayno: Ms. Fuentes what is the past tense for listen?
Fuentes: The past tense for listen in listened
Bayno: Alright, how about see?
{ Linzi raised her hand }
Shalom: The past tense for see is saw
Bayno: Alright, last one, okay let’s hear from [Link].
{ Shalom was already drowsy in her seat and could not hear the teacher, so her seat mate shook her }
Linzi: Hey Shalom, are you alright?
Fuentes: The teacher’s asking you
Shalom: Huh? Oh, can you repeat what you said Miss?
Flores: Can you share to the class what is the past tense of go?
Shalom: Oh huh? I do not know
{ Shalom semi-fainted }
Bayno: Ms. Malapit! One of you carry her to the clinic! Ms. Legania please get her water and phone.
Bayno: Class president take care of your classmates.
Fuentes: Yes ma’am
[clinic]
Kho: Oh dear, what do we have here?
Bayno: Dr. Kho my student almost fainted in class, as much as I want to stay here, I have another class
waiting for me. Please take care of her.
Kho: Alright, please help her sit on the bed. What happened to you dear?
Shalom: Everything is spinning and my stomach hurts, ugh
Kho: Have you eaten anything today?
Shalom: Not yet I was going to buy food during lunch.
Kho: Nako, you must eat. Hija please buy snacks for your classmate sa canteen, just tell them I’m the
one who ordered the food.
Linzi: Okay ma’am
Kho: Have you been skipping your breakfast everyday dear?
Shalom: Yes miss…
Kho: Even if you’re on the rush, you should always eat something in the morning. If you almost fainted
somewhere else, you’d get hurt.
Malapit: I do not know how to cook, and my mom is always busy.
Kho: Hmm, please rest there for now while I go and call your mom.
[ phone call ]
Kho: Hello, is this Shalom’s mother?
Trixie: Hello, yes, it is.
Kho: Please come to the school clinic and take your daughter home.
Trixie: Why?! What happened to my daughter?
Kho: She almost fainted because she didn’t eat anything.
Trixie: I am on my way!
[ end of scenario #1, back to the stage interview]
Jollibe: That must’ve scared you.
Trixie: Oh yes of course, ever since that incident I slowly started learning how to “food prep”. There were
tons of free recipes on the internet that I could use to make pre-made food for me and my daughter. And
once a week we would go on the park to take walks or just enjoy our time. Me and my daughter have
been feeling a lot better now.
Jollibe: What an inspiring story, to all the single moms out there, you can do it!
Jollibe:While you’re listening to their stories, please make sure to check out the booths!
Tampus: For those interested in joining our Zumba dance, please sign up here!!
Catubig: Snacks and drinks for sale here!!
Aceno: Join Lonium Gym now!!
Jollibe: Alright, let’s welcome our 2nd guest now, Ms. Faith!
Lanuza: Hello everyone!!
Jollibe: So, Ms. Faith we heard that you’re a vlogger who supports healthy eating and diet, can you tell
use how you started your journey?
Lanuza: Ah yes, back then just like any other teenager I used to stare at influencer’s body with envy. My
insecurities grew to the point where I would starve myself and engage in rigorous exercise just to
achieve my “dream” body. But that dream body of mine was just a fleeting desire because my health
started deteriorating.
[cue scenario #2]
Geraldez: Hoy faith! What’s that?
Lanuza: Look guys, sobrang ganda ng body niya. I wish my body was like that
Geraldez: Girl, we both know those influencers are taking something to have a body like that.
Hannah: She’s right, faith. Also you have a pretty good body naman ah.
Lanuza: You don’t get it.
Geraldez: whatever let’s just go to class now.
[at home]
Lanuza: Ugh I seriously hate my body, why did I have to be born with such bad genes?! Starting
tomorrow I’m only eating once a day.
[next morning]
Lanuza: Do you guys know any gyms nearby?
Catubig: Huh, why?
Lanuza: ‘Cuz I’m gonna work out, duh?!
Geraldez: I know one, but they only take people 18 and older
Lanuza: What?! Might as well just exercise at home.
Hannah: Don’t go overboard though.
Catubig: Hey faith, did you know that the influencer you showed us yesterday was exposed for editing
her pictures and got something done with her body after claiming they were natural?
Lanuza: No way, show me!
Sumicad: Hi! It’s me lovely your next-door girly! I want to address all the rumors circulating around my
name. First, yes, I do edit my pictures and have done procedures. However, I never claimed to be all
natural. In fact, I even have a video talking about my procedures. I’m sorry if my post has rubbed you
guys the wrong way, but that was never my intention. As someone with an eating disorder I hope you all
would take care of your bodies the way I want to with mine.– [ video cut ]
Lanuza: This doesn’t change the fact that I still want to change my body.
Geraldez: Are you serious right now? If you end up getting hurt don’t come crying to us.
Lanuza: Fine!
Ornopia [NARRATOR]: Despite her friend’s warning, Faith continued with her plan and proceeded to
starve herself and exercise nonstop until she was on the verge of getting sick.
Geraldez: Faith, anong nangyayari sayo? Are you even healthy?! You look like a sick patient.
Lanuza: Shut up! Can’t you see how perfect my body is now?!
Hannah: No, you’re not! Stop that.
Geraldez: Faith, please let us help you. I’ll even introduce you to my dietician aunt. Just stop whatever
you’re doing right now.
Lanuza: Fine, but if it doesn't work you won’t interfere with my decisions anymore.
Geraldez: Okay
[Fitness Clinic]
Flores: Hello, miss?
Lanuza: Call me Faith.
Flores: Okay, Miss Faith. I see that you’re severely underweight. Have you been starving yourself?
Lanuza: Yes, but I only skip breakfast.
Flores: That doesn't count Miss Faith. I’ll give you a diet plan that will work well with your preference.
Make sure to tell your parents about this.
Lanuza: Okay ma’am, thank you!
Ornopia [NARRATOR]: And so Faith decided to follow the dietician’s plan for her, and soon enough she
made progress with her body and health.
[ end of scenario #2, back to the stage interview]
Lanuza: I will always owe this success to my friends who convinced me to try the healthier way. I am so
happy with my body now, and I can finally say I’m free from the burden of my insecurities.
Jollibe: That was quite a journey, Miss Faith. We hope that the young ones will learn something from it.
Jollibe: As a break from all these stories, let’s have a trivia. Whoever answers from the crowd will win
this brand-new thermal flask! “I am a. I am red. There are millions in me, what am I”
{ Aceno raises his hand }
Jollibe: What’s your answer sir?
Aceno: Strawberry!
Jollibe: Ding ding ding…!! Unfortunately, your answer is wrong! What about you ma’am?
Ornopia: Pomegranate?
Jollibe: Correct! Congratulations on winning the thermal flask. Please claim it at the booth beside the
stage!
Ornopia: Thank you!
Jollibe: Let us now move forward with the last special guest for today’s event! Welcome Mr. Arsolon the
winner of the 2024 500M Race!
Arsolon: Hello Constantyn, it has been a while.
Jollibe: Indeed, it has been Kyle. Would you like to share your story now?
Arsolon: Yes, you know just like the other guests my journey wasn’t easy. I lost my job, girlfriend of 8
years, and I was constantly bullied before. Because of the circumstances I fell into deep despair and
almost ended my life. Luckily someone very special helped me.
[cue scenario #3]
Arsolon: Babe, I just lost my job
Igloria: Kyle… I’m tired Kyle. I’m really tired. It would be best if we end things now. Let’s not drag this
any further.
Arsolon: We can’t just end like this…
Igloria: Goodbye, let’s not see each other ever again.
Narrator: 2 hours has passed Kyle is still laying down, 4, 5, 6 hours still Kyle was glued to his bed. Days,
weeks passed Kyle was getting calls from his boss and coworkers.
Arsolon: Well, I still have to make a living.
[workplace]
{Skimming through the report with a frown}
Barangan: Basura flips pages Ano ba’to?!?!
{Skimming through the report with a frown}
Barangan: I don't know what you were thinking when you put this together. It looks like you just threw it
together at the last minute. You were gone for 2 weeks and you comeback with this?
Arsolon: Sorry sir, I thought I followed the guidelines. Is there something specific that needs to be fixed?
Barangan: You can’t even handle a simple task? This is a mess revise everything by 6pm, if you can’t
meet the deadline pack your things and leave the building. Sigh
[outside the office]
Ledesma: Did he really think he was getting some kind of special treatment after getting dumped? pft
Emmanuel: Haha he’s good for nothing, he never even had one of his works published.
Ledesma: At this point he should just give up
{Both started laughing}
Ledesma: My friend, let me give you my best piece of advice, just quit. You’re good for nothing, mas
makakabuti sa kompanya pag wala kana, problema lang ambag mo rito.
Both laughs
Narrator: Kyle has given up. He promises to himself to just end everything, peacefully in his bed.
Months past.
Arsolon: When will my suffering end.
Narrator: Kyle consumes nothing but junk foods and alcohol. Rotting slowly in his home.
Loud knock
Baroro: AYOOOOOO!!!! knocks aggressively Kyle! Hoy!!!! Buhay kapa ba?
Arsolon: Ano naman yan ingay-ingay mo don ka nga sa far away. he closes the door
Baroro: Pre parang makikita mo na ni Jesus pag di kapa lumabas jan. Dali jogging tayo!
Kyle tries to sleep back but his friend was eager to help him
Baroro: Dali may maraming chicks don para malimutan mo na yang Ezekiel Ezekiel na yan.
Narrator: Finally! After months of hiding away Kyle was back at his own feet.
nag jogging na sila
Baroro: Alam mo jogging will help you.
Arsolon: Really?
Baroro: Talaga! Jogging can make you feel better physically and mentally. It will help you clear your
mind. Running will calm that busy mind of yours.
[ end of scenario #2, back to the stage interview]
Arsolon: And here I am 4 years later, better than ever. Peace of mind came at a large cause but I’m
finally in a better situation now, all thanks to my cousin.
Jollibe: How amazing! Let this be an inspiration to all of you that your suffering will all come to an end in
time. To a better future and better life. Lead a balanced life with both fitness and health!
