ABBREVIATIONS:
MR – magic ring
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
INC – increase (make 2 sc in one stitch)
DEC – decrease (2 sc together)
FLO – front loops only
BLO – back loops only
(....)*6 – repeat instruction in brackets 6 times

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
The size of a toy depends on a yarn, a hook with which you
crochet, a crocheting density itself, and even on a technique of
crocheting (crosses, checkmarks or mixed). I crochet in a mixed
way. One skein of the main color is enough for me on a toy. The
height of the toy is 15 cm in a sitting position.
I highly RECOMMEND you to use a hook no more than 3.5mm
or crochet tight enough so that there are no “holes” and the toy
looks professional. Also, pay attention to stuffing the toy, so that
you give a shape, highlight cheeks, tummy and other roundness.
I stuff the toy tight enough, except for parts where it is not
required (arms, legs for example).
Crochet all pieces in spiral rounds, if otherwise is not indicated.
Take your time, read the description carefully, and then the
result will please you.

All pieces are crocheted in spiral rounds.

HEAD
Begin crocheting with complementary color:
Rnd1. ch5, start in the second chain from the hook:
inc, 2sc, 3sc in the last chain, 3sc (10)
See first round diagram

Rnd2. 2inc, 2sc, 3inc, 2sc, inc(16)

Rnd3. 16 sc (16)
Rnd4. 16 sl st (16), change color to the main
Rnd5. BLO 3 sc in each stitch of
the previous round, repeat 10 times,
(turns out 10 increases), 6 sc (36)
See fifth round diagram

Rnd6-11. 36sc (36) 6 rounds

Insert safety eyes in Rnd 4, where
increases are. Insert one eye into the first
stitch of the 4th increase,
and the other eye into the first stitch of
the 8th increase.
The photo shows the points where we insert
the legs of the nose and eyes.
Perhaps these points of the eyes for you will be different.
This may depend on the yarn, density
and incline of your crocheting.

* DO NOT secure the eyes very deeply into

the plug, otherwise it will "sink" in the yarn
and the toy will get an evil (frowning) look.
After stuffing the head, you can CAREFULLY
cut the pile around the eye with nail scissors
to "open" the toy's gaze.

Insert a safety nose between Rnd 1 and 2,

so that it is centered in relation to the eyes.

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

Rnd12. (4sc, dec)*6 (30)
Rnd13. (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
Rnd14. (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
Stuff the head with fiberfill. Push it into the zone of the muzzle with
your fingers and a little effort, so that the muzzle is convex. Pay
attention to the cheeks, stretch the canvas to the sides and stuff well
these places, so that the cheeks are rounded.

Rnd15. (1sc, dec)*6 (12) Stuff the head completely.

Rnd16. 6dec (6) + sl st
Cut the yarn and tighten the hole closed with a needle.

EARS (make 2)
Crochet with the main color:
Rnd1. 6sc in MR
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail
for sewing.

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

HIND LEGS (make 2)
Crochet with the main color:
Rnd1. ch5, start in the second chain from the hook:
inc, 2sc, 3sc in the last chain, 3sc (10)
See first round diagram
Rnd2. 2inc, 2sc, 3inc, 2sc, inc (16)
Rnd3. (1sc, inc)*2, 2sc, (1sc, inc)*3, 3sc, inc (22)
Rnd4-5. 22sc (22)
Rnd6. 7sc, 6dec, 3sc (16)
Rnd7. 4sc, 6dec (10)
Rnd8. 10sc (10)
Stuff the leg slightly, i.e. it should be a little flat. Crochet sl st, cut the
yarn and fasten off.
Pull the last round with two fingers in different directions to visually
divide it into 2 parts, 5sc each.
Do not confuse where the heel is and where the toe is!

FORELEGS (make 2)
Crochet with the main color:
Rnd1. 6sc in MR
Rnd2. 6inc (12)
Rnd3. 12sc (12)
Rnd4. (1sc, dec)*4 (8)
Stuff with fiberfill the lower part.
Rnd5-8. 8sc (8) 4 rounds
Fold the leg in half and crochet 4sc.
Cut the yarn and fasten off.

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

TAIL
Crochet with the main color:
Rnd1. 6sc in MR
Rnd2. 6sc (6)
Rnd3. (1sc, inc)*3 (9)
Rnd4-5. 9sc (9)
Rnd6. (2sc, inc)*3 (12)
Rnd7-8. 12sc (12)
Rnd9. (3sc, inc)*3 (15)
Rnd10. 15sc (15)
Rnd11. (4sc, inc)*3 (18)
Rnd12. 18sc (18)
DO NOT stuff. Fold the tail in half and crochet 9sc through both
sides. Cut the yarn and fasten off.

BODY
Crochet with the main color:
ATTENTION! We will crochet the hind legs into the body through the
inner side in Rnd 4 and outer side of the leg in Rnd 5 of the body.

Rnd1. ch8, start in the second chain from the hook:

inc, 5sc, 4sc in the last chain, 5sc, inc (18)
See first round diagram

Rnd2. 2inc, 5sc, 4inc, 5sc, 2inc (26)

Rnd3. (1sc, inc)*2, 5sc, (1sc, inc)*4, 5sc, (1sc, inc)*2 (34)

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

Rnd4. 4sc, 9sc with the tail, 6sc, 5sc on
the hind leg and body, 3sc, 5sc on the second
hind leg and body, 2sc (34)

For convenience, you can mark on the hind leg

5 stitches with pins, which we will crochet into
the body in Rnd 4.

Rnd5. 19sc, 5sc on the first hind leg, 3sc, 5sc on the second leg,
2sc (34)

Everyone has a different crocheting density and degree of

shifting rounds, so check if the hind legs are even in relation to
the tail. If it is not so, then correct Rnd 4 and 5 and crochet
according to your scheme.

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

Rnd6. 17sc, dec, 13sc, dec (32)
Rnd7. 32sc (32)
Rnd8. 9sc, dec, 14sc, dec, 5sc (30)
Rnd9. 30sc (30)
Rnd10. (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
Rnd11-12. 24sc (24)
Rnd13. (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
Rnd14. 18sc (18)
Rnd15. Join the forelegs in this round: 4sc with the first foreleg, 5sc, 4sc
with the second leg, 5sc (18)

Everyone has a different crocheting density and degree of shifting

rounds, so check if the forelegs are even in relation to the hind legs. If it
is not so, then correct Rnd 15 and crochet according to your scheme.

Crochet sl st, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing pieces.

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

ASSEMBLY
Start with the needle sculpting. Take a needle, suitable in length, and
nylon thread (or any other strong thread). The stronger tightening is, the
more convex the toy’s cheeks are.

You can watch the video about the needle sculpting.

Read the detailed description of tightening further.

Insert a needle in Rnd 4 at point A and exit it through point B, next to the
eye. Insert the needle in point C, also next to the eye and exit it through
point D (next to point A). Then insert the needle in point A and exit it
through point E, next to the other eye. Insert the needle in point F, next
to the eye, and return to point A.
Take both thread ends and pull tight each one. Push on the eyes and
muzzle with your fingers, to make the tightening correct and
symmetrical. Fasten off, making a couple of knots, when you like the
muzzle looks like. Hide the thread ends inside the head.

Embroider eyebrows, eyelids and a mouth
Use black yarn Yarnart Jeans and embroider eyelids, eyebrows and a
mouth.
At this link you can watch the video
about face decoration:

Sew on the ears

Sew on the ears at eye level in Rnd 10-11. Attach the ears to the head
with pins beforehand to outline their location. Use the ends of the
thread that remained after crocheting the ears.

Highlight the toes on the legs

Take a thin strong thread (I have YarnArt Jeans yarn) and a needle
(I have a plastic one with not sharp end).

At this link you can watch the video where I show the principle of
allocating toes for a plush toy:

https://youtu.be/S7kU7FgFr3E

Author Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys

Pierce through the leg with a needle, make a couple of stitches, while
tightening each stitch a little. Repeat this action in two places. As a
result, we get three highlighted toes on the foot.

Sew the head to the body.

Mark a smooth location of the head with two knitting needles. Fix the
head, so that the neckline is close to the place of the needle sculpting.
Look at the photos below.
Sew with the yarn tail, which remains after crocheting the body.
Strengthen the neck, stuffing it tightly with fiberfill.

Mustache
If you wish, you can make mustache from fishing line. I have 0.25mm
black fishing line.

At this link you can watch the video how I attach mustache to my toys:
