Cloud Computing - Quick Guide
What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud Computing means delivering computing services such as storage, servers, databases, networking,
software, and more over the Internet (the cloud). It replaces the need for owning physical hardware.
Example
Using services like Google Drive to store files or watching shows on Netflix are examples of cloud computing.
These services run on powerful computers located remotely.
Main Services in Cloud Computing (Models)
1. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Provides virtual machines, storage, and networking. Examples: Amazon
EC2, Azure VMs.
2. PaaS (Platform as a Service): Offers tools for developers to build and deploy apps. Examples: Google App
Engine, Heroku.
3. SaaS (Software as a Service): Ready-to-use software over the internet. Examples: Gmail, Microsoft 365.
Cloud Types
1. Public Cloud: Services available over the public internet (e.g., AWS, Azure).
2. Private Cloud: Used by a single organization.
3. Hybrid Cloud: Combines public and private cloud features.
Benefits of Cloud Computing
- Cost-effective: Pay for what you use.
- Scalable: Easily scale resources up or down.
- Reliable: Backup, recovery, and high uptime.
- Accessible: Use from anywhere with an internet connection.
