IX. COURSE POLICIES

o Attendance
Students who miss more than one-fifth of the sessions of any course prior to the withdrawal
deadline can be withdrawn from the course by the instructor.
1. All course requirements must be completed by learners before grade submission.

2. You are expected to attend all scheduled activities and to be on time. Attendance, including
punctuality, is part of your evaluation for professionalism. Negative evaluations may result in
reduced grades. In case of absence it’s the student’s responsibility to make up for the course
work.
3. You are expected to participate in classroom activities and all assignments must be completed
on time.

4. Students who miss 1/5 of the sessions in the first 10 weeks will be dropped from
the course. Students who miss two clinical days will be asked to drop the course (in case
of a clinical absence, a medical report from AUBMC UHS or AUBMC ER only to justify the
absence is a must).
5. Any student who is late or absent from a clinical assignment for a valid reason, provided
the absence does not exceed two times, will be requested to repeat that assignment.
Over two weeks of absence regardless of cause results in dropping the course.
6. Any student who is absent from a clinical assignment due to illness is expected to inform the instructor by
7 a.m. on the day of his/her clinical assignment.

o Credit Hour Policy

This course follows AUB Credit Hour Policy for five credit courses. This course is split into 2
credits didactic and three credits clinical. The didactic part meets once weekly for 2 hours
didactic and academic hours per week. The clinical part meets 9 hours per week, split into prep
lab (2 hours) followed by clinical day, (7 hours).

o Submissions and Due Dates

Care plan submission must take place within 24 hours of the clinical day, i.e. before 6:00 of the
same day. Tardiness of submission results in deduction of grades in this manner.
After 6:00, there will be 15% deduction of grade and 30% deduction if submitted on
second day. CARE PLAN dates are indicated on the clinical rotation. Zero if submitted
after 48 hours of clinical day.
OR report is due 2 days post the 2nd day.
Dr report is due same day at 6pm.
