Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): Honeywell Fire Alarm Control Panel

In Case of Alarm

• Evacuate the building immediately following your fire evacuation plan.

• Do not silence or reset the panel unless authorized and the cause is confirmed safe

Panel Indicators

• Red LED/Display: Fire alarm active

• Yellow LED/Display: Trouble or fault detected

• Green LED/Display: Normal operation

Basic Operation

• Silence/Reset:

o Only use after confirming the cause and with authorization.

o Follow instructions from emergency personnel.

• Acknowledge/Investigate:

o Check the display for the source of alarm or fault.

o Notify maintenance or fire safety team as needed.

Essential Safety Precautions

• Never service the panel while powered.


Disconnect AC and battery before maintenance.

• Do not insert or remove modules/cables when the panel is energized.

• After any changes (hardware/software), perform a full system test (NFPA 72 requirement).

• Only use compatible devices and listed components.

• Keep the panel clean and dry.


Use a dry microfiber cloth for the touchscreen.

Routine Maintenance (By Authorized Personnel Only)

• Test detectors and alarms regularly (minimum Quarterly).

• Check and replace batteries as recommended (typically every 3–5 years).

• Inspect dust, dirt, or obstructions on detectors and panel vents.

• Log all maintenance and testing activities.

Environmental & Installation Notes

• Install in a temperature-controlled area (15–27°C recommended).

• Avoid high humidity (max 93% RH, non-condensing).

• Proper grounding is essential for lightning/surge protection.
