RADIO DRAMA GUIDELINES

A radio drama is a form of audio storytelling that relies solely on voice, sound effects, and music
to convey a narrative without any visual elements. Radio dramas tell compelling stories through
dialogue, soundscapes, and background music.

As one of the contested activities for the English Convocation, radio drama contest will be held to
enhance students' creativity, to encourage teamwork and effective communication in presenting
a dramatized story, and to foster appreciation for the art of radio drama as a form of expression
and storytelling among selected grade 12 students.

The following are the guidelines on the Radio Drama contest:

School only.
2. Each section shall only have 1 team representative.
3. Each competing team shall be composed of 4-8 members, including voice actors, sound
effect handlers, and a narrator if required.
4. The storyline of the radio drama should reflect the convocation’s theme “English as a
Global Language: Bridging Cultures, Connecting the World” to ensure coherence in
message delivery.
5. Each radio drama should last between 3 to 5 minutes.
6. Scripts must be original and should not contain any offensive or inappropriate content.
7. All radio drama recordings will be uploaded online via the Office of the Student Affairs
Facebook page.
