Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Ngoyia Kakpata, and I am
a JSS3 student serving as the school prefect at Bo School. I am writing to bring
to your attention a significant concern regarding the inadequate toilet
facilities available for students at our school.
Currently, the limited number of restrooms leads to long queues
during breaks, causing many students to return late to class, which disrupts
the learning process. Additionally, the existing facilities often lack essential
supplies such as toilet paper and soap, compromising hygiene standards and
increasing the risk of illness among students.
To address these issues, I respectfully request the following improvements:
1. Increase the Number of Restrooms: Construct additional toilet facilities
to accommodate the growing student population and reduce waiting
times.
2. Regular Maintenance and Supply: Implement a schedule for regular
cleaning and ensure that all restrooms are stocked with necessary
supplies like toilet paper and soap.
Improving the school's sanitation facilities will not only enhance
students' health and well-being but also contribute to a more conducive
learning environment. I trust that you will consider this request with the
urgency it deserves and take the necessary steps to address these challenges.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am confident that,
under your leadership, we can work together to improve our school's facilities
for the benefit of all students.

Yours sincerely,

Ngoyia Kakpata
School Prefect.

Dear Hinga,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to share with you the
wonderful experience I had at the Halifax Busker Festival, held from July 31st
to August 5th. It was a vibrant and exciting event that transformed the
waterfront into a lively stage. Performers from around the world, including
magicians, acrobats, musicians, and comedians, entertained large crowds.
One of the most thrilling moments was watching a fire juggler perform daring
stunts against the beautiful harbor backdrop.

Aside from the performances, the festival featured a variety of food stalls
with delicious local treats. A standout dish was the seafood chowder, which
was rich, flavorful, and made from the fresh catch of the coastal waters.
The atmosphere was electric, with people of all ages coming together to
celebrate through music, art, and food. I truly wish you could have been here
to experience it with me. Perhaps next year, you can plan a visit during the
festival period so we can enjoy it together.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Dear Hindowa,
I hope you are doing well. I want to share with you how we celebrate
Independence Day in Sierra Leone on April 27th. It is a special day filled with
joy, pride, and national unity.
The celebrations begin with an official ceremony where the president
gives a speech about our country’s progress. Schools, government offices, and
businesses decorate their buildings with the national flag. There are colorful
parades, cultural performances, and music concerts across the country.
Traditional dancers, drummers, and musicians entertain the crowds,

Many people attend thanksgiving services at churches and mosques to
pray for the nation. Families and friends gather to enjoy special meals,
including jollof rice, cassava leaves, and grilled fish. At night, fireworks light
up the sky, marking the end of the celebrations.
Independence Day is a time of reflection and pride. I wish you could

Dear Jude,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to share how
computers have significantly enhanced our learning experiences at
school. Here are three keyways they've made studying more efficient
and enjoyable:
First, they provide access to a vast amount of information
through educational websites, digital libraries, and academic
databases. This allows students to explore subjects in depth and stay
updated with the latest knowledge.
Second, computers make learning more engaging. With
multimedia tools such as educational videos, complex topics become
easier to understand. These tools cater to different learning styles that
makes studies more enjoyable.
Lastly, computers enhance communication. Students can
communicate easily with teachers and classmates. This fosters
teamwork and a more connected learning environment.
I hope these insights give you a glimpse into how technology is
transforming our educational experiences. Looking forward to hearing
about your experiences as well.

Warm regards,

Ngoyia.

Informal Letters (watch)
1. Write a letter to your friend telling him about a recent movie
you watched.
Bo School

Bo
31st March 2025
Dear Hindowa,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to share my thoughts
on a recent movie I watched that I think you would enjoy.
I recently watched "Captain America: Brave New World," which
was released in February 2025. The film follows Sam Wilson as he
takes on the mantle of Captain America and investigates a conspiracy
involving U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. The movie features a talented
cast, including Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Harrison Ford as
President Ross, and Liv Tyler reprising her role as Betty Ross.
The film has received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for
the performances of Mackie and Ford, but some criticism regarding its
story and connections to other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.
I think you would appreciate the action sequences and the way
the film explores Sam Wilson's journey as the new Captain America. If
you get a chance to watch it, let me know your thoughts.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Ngoyia.

Dear Munje,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to tell you about a fight I had
with our brother, and I really need your advice.
Yesterday, we argued over the TV remote. I wanted to watch my
favorite show, but he insisted on playing video games. At first, we tried
to take turns, but he refused to stop after his time was up. I got angry
and switched off the TV, which made him furious. He grabbed the
remote, and we started pushing each other. Unfortunately, the remote
fell and broke!
Mom was really upset with both of us, and now we have to share
the cost of a new remote. I feel bad about the fight, but I also think he
was being unfair. What do you think? Should I apologize first? I miss
you and hope to hear from you soon!
Best regards,

Ngoyia.

Dear Munje,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share with you the
amazing birthday celebration I recently attended. It was my
cousin’s birthday, and it was one of the best parties I have ever
been to!
The party was held at our house, and everything was
beautifully decorated with balloons and colorful streamers. There
was loud music, and everyone was dancing and having fun. The
best part was the delicious food—there was jollof rice, fried
chicken, cakes, and lots of snacks.
After eating, we played fun games like musical chairs and
sack races. The highlight of the party was when my cousin cut
the big chocolate cake, and we all sang the birthday song.
Everyone received party favors before leaving.
I had such a great time and wished you were there to
enjoy it with me. I can’t wait to hear from you soon!

Best regards,

wonderful Christmas holidays! It was a time filled with joy,
laughter, and delicious food.
On Christmas Eve, my family and I decorated our house
with lights and a beautiful Christmas tree. We sang carols and

Christmas Day, we went to church to give thanks and then had a
big feast at home. We enjoyed jollof rice, fried chicken, and a
tasty fruitcake.
Later in the evening, we visited friends and neighbors to
share Christmas cheer. We also played games, watched movies,
and had fun together. The holidays were truly special because I
got to spend quality time with my loved ones.
I hope you also had a great Christmas! I can’t wait to hear
about your holiday celebrations.
