Materials to use:

 Computer or Laptops

Procedure to follow

 A teacher to provide learners with laptops or computers.


 Ask the learner top open Microsoft word in the computers or laptops provided to them.
 Ask learners to type ‘National anthem of Zambia’
 Tell learners to format the sentence so that it becomes: bold, on the Centre, underlined
and also to be in Calibri (Body) as the font.
 As the learner to save their work as they are done.

Learners will be given marks depending on how they formatted the sentence (National anthem
of Zambia) which was provided to them.

Technology Studies practical task on how to construct an octagon

Materials to use:

 30 cm rule
 Compass
 Plain paper

Procedure to follow

Ask leaners to construct an octagon following the steps provided below.

 Draw a line AB = 35mm long.


 Bisect line AB to obtain the bisector
 Put the point of compass at A and open it to distance AB. Draw an arc to meet the
bisector at 6.
 Put the point of compass at O and open it to OA. draw an arc to meet the bisector at 4
 Using a compass, get distance 4 – 6 and mark it along the bisector to get point 8. This
will be the centre of the regular octagon
 Using distance 8A, draw a circle to pass through points A and B.
 Take distance AB and step it on this circle to give you a regular octagon.

Learners will be given marks depending on how they have drawn the octagon.

 1.5v cell
 Bulb and its bulb holder
 Switch
 Wooden board
 Connecting wires

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Ask to construct a simple circuit using the materials mentioned.


2. The simple circuit should be done on a plat wooded board.

Marks will be given to the learners depending on how they have constructed a simple circuit on
a wooded board.
