Introduction: Pupils watch a video on Nouns, discuss and
citing some examples such as dog, man, chair, Nigeria,
Kate.
Step 1: Show pictures or objects and ask pupils to
identify them. The teacher says the meaning of Nouns.
Nouns: This is a name of persons, animals, places of
things. Nouns are also called Naming Words.
Mention the names of things and places on the picture
projected on the board.
Step 2: The teacher shows another video on how to use
nouns in sentences.
PROCEDURE: Read a text and mention the nouns in the text.
Use the nouns picked from the word cards to make
statements and ask questions.
Step 3: Explain the difference between Common and
Proper Nouns
A Compound Noun is a noun that is made from at least
two separate words. Compound nouns use a hyphen to
separate the two original words.
A Proper Noun names something specific, usually
something unique, like the name of a person, a brand or
a place.
Proper nouns always begin with a capital letter,
no matter where they are in a sentence.
Provide pupils with a blank sheet of paper and ask them
to draw a picture and write a sentence using a noun.
Activity
Create a "Noun Museum" where pupils can display their
drawings and sentences
