5.2.1.4.2 ECM
The control module consists of two ECMs that work in active/standby mode. Each card
provides two ports, that is, a BSC port in the upper part and a reserved parallel port in the
lower part.
The dry contact interface card takes effect only after it is set on the monitoring system. Set the
unused dry contact signal to the unused status.
Set the EPO port to NO or NC as required.
When multiple UPSs are paralleled, all dry contact signals to be used need to connect to each UPS.
Single cables require dual-insulated twisted cables. If the length of a power cable is within 25–50 m,
its cross-sectional area must be 0.5 mm2 to 1.5 mm2.
The FE port resembles the RS485 port. Follow the silk screen when connecting
communications cables as, if the RS485 port is mistaken for the FE port during cable
connection, the WebUI cannot be connected and MDU communication fails. Conversely, if
the FE port is mistaken for the RS485 port during cable connection, RS485
communication fails.
Only once being set will dry contact signals take effect. Set unused dry contact signals to
the unused state on the LCD.
In a parallel system, ensure that used dry contacts properly connect to each UPS.
The monitoring interface card provides external ports as well as monitoring and control
functions for the MDU. The ports include the ambient temperature and humidity sensor port,
FE port, battery temperature monitoring port, and network management port. MDU functions
include monitoring of the UPS, allowing users to set parameters, command delivery,
information reports, and UPS key information and parameters displayed on the LCD.
The maximum voltage and current of ports DO_1 to DO_4 are 30 V DC, 1 A or 60 V DC, 0.5 A
respectively.
Signal cables must be double-insulated twisted cables. If the cable length is 25–50 m, the
cross-sectional area must be 0.5–1.5 mm2.
RS485 cables and FE cables must be shielded cables.
Figure 5-22 and Figure 5-23 are recommended wiring methods for DO ports.

compared with a traditional electrode humidifier.
− Compared with a traditional electrode humidifier, the wet film humidifier has a
longer service life and maintenance interval.
Condensate pump
The water pump provides power for top drainage with a maximum lift of 4 m.
Check valve
The check valve effectively prevents gas or liquid backflow.
Differential pressure switch
When the air filter is dirty or blocked, the differential pressure switch triggers an alarm,
prompting for air filter replacement.
Differential pressure sensor
− It adjusts air volume based on the differential pressure to ensure precise air supply.
No excessive adjustment helps save energy and reduce power consumption.
− The air supply volume is also sufficient, which helps eliminate hotspots and
improves reliability.

air T/H sensor are provided.
7.3.1.3 Controller
7.3.1.3.1 Appearance and Ports
Appearance
The controller provides a 7-inch true color touchscreen and man-machine interfaces for query,
setting, monitoring, and maintenance.
The indicator on the panel displays operating status of the smart cooling product. Figure 7-7
shows the position of the indicator. Table 7-11 describes the mapping between indicators,
buzzers, and alarms. If alarms of different severities (critical, major, minor, or warning) are
raised simultaneously, the indicator status corresponds to the alarm with the highest severity
level and the buzzer status corresponds to the unacknowledged alarm with the highest severity
level.
Ports
Functions
Each smart cooling product has an independent control system, LCD, electric heater,
humidifier, and T/H sensor to ensure its normal operating in high-precision mode.
The 7-inch display panel with the true-color touchscreen allows you to set parameters for
the smart cooling product and query its status.
The smart cooling product has the following four remote functions.

− Teleadjusting: temperature, humidity, and alarm threshold
When multiple smart cooling products work cooperatively, the controller optimally
distributes the heat load to reduce power consumption and provides backup to improve
reliability.
− When a smart cooling product in the group is faulty, the backup smart cooling
product starts to operate automatically to improve the reliability of the smart
cooling product system.
− Each smart cooling product enters the active mode one by one periodically.
− The number of operating smart cooling products varies depending on the thermal
load in the equipment room to meet requirements promptly, eliminate hot spots, and
save energy.
− A mechanism is adopted to prevent the smart cooling products in the same
equipment room operating in opposite status (such as cooling and heating, or
humidification and dehumidification), in order to save energy.
− Autonomous group networking: If a communication cable in the group control
network is disconnected, two group control network forms, and the group which has
no host smart cooling product can automatically recommend a host and continue the
group networking.
You can monitor, manage, and upgrade one or more smart cooling products using the
remote management software provided by Huawei.
1500 historical alarms can be stored.
Access logs can be traced back. 1000 historical login and setting logs can be stored.

Technical Specifications
The surge protection and grounding system consists of the surge protection solution and
grounding solution.
Grounding Solution
Figure 10-1 M-shaped (grid) grounding solution for a single-row aisle containment
Figure 10-2 M-shaped (grid) grounding solution for a dual-row aisle containment
1. Each cabinet in the smart module connects to the ground grid nearby using ground cables
with a minimum cross-sectional area of 16 mm2.
2. Use 100 mm x 0.3 mm copper foils or 25 mm2 braided copper strips for the equipotential
bonding grid, and use 30 mm x 3 mm red copper strips for the equipotential bonding bar
based on the customer's configurations.
.
Connect equipotential cables to metal components without carrying currents in the smart
module, such as metal doors and windows, cable trays, and ESD floor supports. Each
equipotential cable should have a minimum cross-sectional area of 6 mm2.
Figure 10-3 shows the equipotential cable connections for cabinets in a single-row aisle
containment.
In a dual-row aisle containment, two branch ground copper bars are used. The main ground
copper bar is in the PDC, and a branch ground copper bar is in the first IT cabinet near the
PDC.
Figure 10-4 Equipotential cable connections for dual-row cabinets (two branch ground copper
bars)
The integrated cabling system of the smart module mainly consists of cabling devices and
cables.
Cable Troughs
Cable troughs are installed on the top of cabinets for routing cables. There are two types of
cable troughs: signal cable troughs and power cable troughs.
If a dual-row aisle containment is equipped with one PDC and one network cabinet, power
cables need to be routed to the other end of the module through the control skylight on the top
of the PDC while signal cables need to be routed to the other end of the module through the
control skylight on the top of the network cabinet.
Cable
The power cables include power cables to the UPS, battery cabinet, smart cooling
product, and rPDU.
The ground cables include ground cables to the PDU8000, battery cabinet, and IT
cabinet.
The monitoring cables include monitoring cables to the smart cooling product, UPS, and
video devices, access control alarm cables, cables in the network cabinet, and various
sensor cables.
Cables to the fire extinguishing auxiliary components include cables to the alarm beacon
and skylight actuator.
