Characteristics
Studies show characteristics that are imparted to one individual through genetics
have greater effect on one’s personality and growth than any experience one may encounter in
one’s life. Attributes are carried on by individuals from their parents who can reflect an
individual’s nature of accordance, these attributes when seen commonly throughout the ancestry
in a line of family can be boon or threat. Attributes are like talent and experience is like hard
work. Hard work can improve talent.

From early age individuals are majorly influenced by their families, their
cognitive and physical abilities are determined by the upbringing of the family. An infant does
not have the knowledge of differentiating the good and the bad. The attributes takes form with
the pattern of teaching. What someone teaches an individual depending on the amount of
influence those actions carry can signify the roots of that knowledge engraved into that
individual at an early age. Personality is the way a person adapts to life through his /her
experiences. With economic background the personality can be developed with spectrum of
choice in the behavior. Coming from a wealthy house, an individual garners great habits and
teachings, but a poor background cannot give quality knowledge. Attributes take shape through
centre of learning, peers and their influence and major inspirations. There are material gains that
can force an individual to sometimes act out of the way, which can create a new experience that
may form a character of an individual. For instance, if an individual is attracted to someone’s
property, one can go to any extent to achieve that material gain that can be vicious in character
for an individual and detrimental for the other person. The attributes that an individual is born
with can help in strategizing a plan to achieve a certain goal. There are major factors that
contribute in the way an individual can grow to think. The place where we grow up and the
people we encounter in our daily field of life help us paint our personality. The culture begins to
tell more about an individual and the norms of the society tell how the individual has learnt to
make his presence among people. In today’s situation, individuals rely more on social media than
a trained specialist. For instance, an individual would consider a medicinal advice from social
media rather than consulting a doctor with decades of expertise in it.

Moving along with the idea of experience and its effect on the personality and
development, an individual’s personality can shape his/her beliefs, values, behavior and the way
they interact with their environment. Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors fluctuate over time and
change in response to experiences. When experiences are in life are temporary and short lived
their impact is not efficient enough to change our thinking and actions. But when they are
consistent, exhilarating and gain momentum which amounts to positive response in our reaction
it brings a long lasting change in our personality. Thus, personality is influenced by an
interdependent set of processes occurring at multiple timescales and within multiples systems.
Individuals tend to create their experience; this tendency to create can be based on try something
new, staying in the comfort zone or due to their present conditions of living. This is where the

role of psychological embedded in the genetics should be evidently taken a cognizance of,
genetically influenced aptitudes, motivations and activities lead individuals to expose themselves
to different sorts of relevant experiences. For instance, if A and B are standing at a gun point at
the cliff of a mountain with C to shoot either one or both of them, there can be a new thought of
dilemma between A and B to take up another resort by confessing the particular crime and
vandalism of the other personality by either of the accused, here the motivations of not dying,
and exposure to the thought of confession due to the threat in front of, can be the reason for
being rescued from the death. Here the safety need is analyzed from this situation has affected to
take such action either by A or B.

In conclusion, individuals are influenced by their upbringing and their cognitive


and psychological abilities are determined by the way of teaching and experiences can be short-
lived or long lasting, long lasting experiences can determine a long lasting change in the
personality of an individuals.
