National Exit T est (NExT ) is a combined single-window exam f or MBBS students to
qualif y f or admission into postgraduate courses as well as to obtain the license to
practice medicine in India. T he exam is to be held in two steps to check theoretical
and practical knowledge of candidates. Once implemented, NExT will replace
multiple exams including NEET PG and FMGE.

Requirements for 12th grade

Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and
English individually and must have obtained mentioned percentage taken
together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. In respect of PwBD
candidates as per NMC and DCI Regulations, the minimum marks in the
qualif ying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany &
Z oology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 f rom Open School or as private
candidates shall not be eligible to appear f or the ‘National Eligibility Cum
Entrance T est’. However, this has been a subject matter of challenge bef ore the
Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench,
and Hon’ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur. Result awaited
candidates can also apply,he/she shall not be eligible f or admission to the
Undergraduate Medical Courses if he/she does not pass the qualif ying
examination with the required pass percentage at the time of f irst round of
Counselling.

of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Z oology)/Biotech and
f urther passed the earlier qualif ying examination with Physics, Chemistry,
