Scripts
Scripts are a way of adding features to Ostendo to suit your business without having to customise Ostendo on a business-by-business basis. The benefit of using scripts over programme customisation is that you are not tied to the version of the software that your programme customisation was designed for. By using a script, you can continue to receive updates to Ostendo to get the latest features and your script will still be compatible. A brief overview of where scripts can be run along with examples to demonstrate each option follows: Custom Menu Script: A Custom Menu Script can be run in the following ways: o Ostendo's Main Menu: Adds the Script Name to the drop-down under Custom on Ostendos main menu Command Line Script: This allows you to run a script from the Command Line of your computer. This is very useful if, for example, you wish to run the script as part of your computers overnight batch process. Desktop Icon Script: This allows you to run a script from a Desktop Icon without the necessity of starting up Ostendo.

The Ostendo Help Menu help provides a guide as to what scripting functions and procedures are available in Ostendo.
