ROUTINES

Routine Time Description

Interacting with kids in the morning and/or waking kids up at specified


times.
7:00 – 9:00
AM Routine Prepare and feed kids breakfast.
a.m. Have kids help bring breakfast dishes to sink after done eating.
Helping kids brush teeth, brush hair, get dressed.

School drop off is after AM routine, and includes:


Get kids, lunches, and backpacks in car and driving to school.
School Drop 8:30 – 9:30
Walk kids into each classroom and dropping off kids, lunchbox and
Off a.m. backpacks
Drive home after drop off and finish clean up after breakfast/free play.

Clean up after AM routine (wash dishes, wipe table, clean up kitchen,


clean up toys)
At Home 9:00 a.m. – 'At Home Routine' means staying in neighborhood for activities,
Routine 12:00 p.m. including: Neighborhood parks, walks around neighborhood, free play
inside or in backyard
Lunch served by 12 p.m., in room for naps by 12:30 p.m.

Playing in living room area (near bookshelves).


‘Free play’ means the kids can play with each other or by themselves.
You do not have to actively engage, but you do have to supervise.
Free Play Misc. Please do not be on your phone during this time. If you are not directly
interacting with the kids, use this time to do ‘maintenance’ tasks.
Encourage kids to play with trucks, toys on shelves, books, or anything
else in the living room area on bookshelves.

2:30 – 3:30 Drive to school and pick up kids, lunchbox and backpack from each
School Pick Up classroom. Drive home. Unpack lunchboxes and wash, unpack
p.m. backpacks.

Prepare and feed kids afternoon snack, allow for free play in home/close
3:30 – 5:30
PM Routine to home. Have kids help clean up toys by 5:30 and prepare for dinner by
p.m. washing hands, setting table.

Dinner by 6:00 p.m. Have kids help clean up after dinner. Play in home,
Evening 5:30 p.m. -
(reduce screen time). Get kids ready for bed (lotion, pajamas, brush
Routine Later teeth). Read books before bed.
