Abstract
Climate change an oppressing issue with devastating consequences climate
population that is rapidly consuming the natural resource. So the question arises
that either the problem is caused by human activities or it is a part of natural cycle?
This article discusses about the natural and human factors causing climate
change, it’s impacts on humans and on natural atmosphere and preventive
measures.
Climate Change:
Climate change refers to long term shifts in weather patterns and temperature that
leads to change in earth’s average temperature . According to NASA the earth average temperature
has increased about 1 degree Fahrenheit during 20th century. So this increase in the earth’s
temperature created a wide variety of problems that left long lasting impacts on environment .
Human contributions :
1: Increasing population
Increasing population demands higher demand of resources like food , water, shelter leading to greater
greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, agriculture as well as from industries. Deforestation to
accommodate growing populations further leads to carbon emission . This intensified resources
consumption contributes significantly to climate change. Population is a major root of climate change .
2:Increasing level of noise
Increasing level of noise from human activities like transportation, urban
development, industrial operations etc. It directly contributes to climate change by effecting biodiversity
and ecosystems. It’s not a direct driver of climate change but its impacts on ecosystems and its
association with polluting activities highlights its relevance in the broader context of climate stability and
environmental health.
3:Burning of fossils
Burning fossils releases carbon dioxide along with other greenhouse gases into
the atmosphere. These emissions capture heat, leading to global warming and climate change. As
temperature rise, ecosystems are disrupted and then extreme weather events become more frequent.
This human activity contributes to impact the biodiversity and planet’s climate.
4:Deforestation
Deforestation means cutting of trees that absorb carbon dioxide ( a key greenhouse gas).
Forests are cleared for agriculture and development , to set up industries , to build new homes . This
leads to global warming and leads to the loss of biodiversity weakens ecosystem’s resilience to climate
change.
. UN FAO estimates that 10 million hectares of forests are cut down every year.
5:Energy production
Power plants rely on fossil fuels emit large amount of carbon dioxide , methane
and other pollutants contributing to climate change. These gases trap heat and causing global
tempratures to [Link] warming disrupts weather patterns leading to extreme climate events.

Human activities leading to climate change:
Burning of fossils
Deforestation
Industrial process
Energy production
Residential heating
Soil degrading
Plastic and cement production
1
Use of electronic gadgets
Land changes
Transportation
Climate change is also caused by natural phenomenon like volcanic eruption, tectonic
shifts, variations in solar radiation etc all are considered the causes of climate change.
According to NASA these natural causes are still in play today but their impacts occur
too slowly to explain the rapid warming seen in recent decades.
Volcanic eruption
Changes in sea levels
Solar variability
Lack of rain
Natural greenhouse gasses emission (like methane through decomposition of
organic matter ).
Acidification of oceans (increased levels of carbon dioxide leads to higher level
of carbonic acid in oceans, effecting marine ecosystem).
Ice sheet and glacial dynamics (melting of glaciers and ice sheets contribute
to sea level rise that can have significant climate effect).
Movement of tectonic plates (this movement leads to alter the configuration
of continents and ocean basis).
Natural forest fire
Axial tilt (earth’s angle)
2
Eccentricity (orbital path variation)
1:Respiratory Problems
Warmer tempratures and changing weather patterns leads to respiratory
problems like lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthema etc.
2: Rise of vector brone diseases
Climate change leads to the rise of vector brone diseases like dengue
fever ,malaria etc.
3: Water brone diseases
Increased flooding and changes in precipitation patterns leads to water-
brone diseases like typhoid fever , cholera, hepatitis and diarrhea etc.
3
4:Illnesses associated with heat
Severity of heat waves leads to heat stroke , exhaustion and
cardiovascular diseases.
5:Food insecurities
Climate change effects agricultural production leading to malnutrition , food
insecurity , food shortage that effects human.
The Global Report on Food Crisis (GRFC) 2024 confirms that in 2023 about 282 million people or 21.5
percent of analyzed population in 59 countries faced extreme levels of food shortage . Published by
Food Security Information Network in support of Global Network against Food Crises the GRFC 2024 is
the reference document for global , regional and country level acute food insecurity in 2023. Food
Security Information Network and Global Network Against Food Crises. 2024. GRFC 2024. Rome.
6: Water shortage
Increased evaporation due to rising temperature and changes in precipitating
patterns leads to water shortage effecting agriculture , human health and ecosystems.
7:Increased risk of wildfires
Climate change creates such conditions that increase the risk of
wildfires leading to loss of life, ecosystem disruption etc.
Use of public transport, walk or bike instead of driving to reduce emissions.
Preserve water(take shorter showers ,fix leaks , use water efficient appliances to preserve water)
Plantation
Use of energy efficient appliances (like LED bulbs to replace traditional bulbs )
By minimizing the use of electrical appliances
By controlling population
Use ecofriendly products
Investing in renewable energy
Promote sustainable agriculture
Develop carbon capture spaces
Enact climate change policies

Inshort we should take some actions to control climate change if left unchecked,
climate change will let average global tempratures to increase beyond 3 degree Celcius , and will effect
every [Link] we have experienced and still experiencing that how it brought and is bringing
disasters, storms and threats like water and food [Link] to WHO between 2030 -2050
climate change is expected to cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per years from
malnutrition ,food insecurity ,water scarcity ,heat strokes.
