The teaching of CRS in secondary schools in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State has
been plagued by several problems. These problems include inadequate qualified teachers, lack of
teaching materials, poor teaching methods, and inadequate assessment techniques (Adeyemi, 2012).
These problems have resulted in students' poor performance in CRS examinations and a lack of interest
in the subject.

*Research Questions*

1. What are the problems facing the teaching of CRS in secondary schools in Sabon Gari Local
Government Area of Kaduna State?

2. What are the causes of these problems?

3. What are the effects of these problems on students' performance in CRS examinations?

This chapter outlines the methodology used in this study. The chapter discusses the research design,
population, sample, data collection instruments, and data analysis techniques.

*Research Design*

This study used a descriptive survey research design. The design was chosen because it allows for the
collection of data from a large sample of participants (Creswell, 2014).
*Population*
