A Mosfet

A MOSFET is a three-terminal semiconductor device used for switching and amplification in power electronics and digital circuits. It has two types: N-channel and P-channel, which operate based on gate voltage relative to a threshold. Key features include being voltage-controlled, having high input impedance, and fast switching speed, making it suitable for applications like DC-DC converters and motor drivers.

A MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) is a three-

terminal semiconductor device used for switching and amplification. It's

widely used in power electronics and digital circuits.

Terminals:
• Gate (G) – Controls the flow
• Drain (D) – Current flows into this terminal
• Source (S) – Current flows out of this terminal

Types:
• N-channel MOSFET – Turns on when gate voltage > threshold (VGS
> Vth)
• P-channel MOSFET – Turns on when gate voltage < threshold (VGS
< Vth)

Key Features:
• Voltage-controlled (unlike BJTs which are current-controlled)
• High input impedance
• Fast switching speed
• Used in DC-DC converters, motor drivers, inverters, and logic gates
