What is this mod?
DMTools was created to be a way to give server-admins and “dungeon masters” ways of building
and creating content for their players by
I highly recommend using PIPPI with DMTools, as Pippi allows you to set up the monsters on
spawns, and to give out Schematics and other recipes from loot or merchants.
That’s not to say that DMTools is an admin-only mod. It’s perfectly possible to use it in single-player,
although most of the functionality is only accessible through the cheat-menu by spawning in items,
monsters or feats.
These items can be used from the inventory to give a reminder of how different features in
the tool works. If you’ve forgotten how to use parts of the mod, these can help. They can
also – to great benefit – be given out to players if they’re uncertain about the workings of
certain features.
This mod is not supposed to be a mod that is on par with the base game. As such, several items and
functions have a power-level higher than normal.
I recommend you think about this before putting any mod into a server rotation, especially a server
with an already existing economy. Go slow – it’ll pay off in the end.
Bugs n’ Whatnots
This is a mod for Conan Exiles and there will be some inconsistencies, bugs and other shenanigans
going on, I’m sure.
If something doesn’t work or doesn’t work as expected, feel free to post something about that in the
Discussions for the mod or in the Discord.
Have Fun!
Features of the mod
Enough of that. You want to know about the goodies. I understand – here we go…
New Purges
DMTools adds several new purges into the world – these purges are typically humanoid only purges
and some of them stretch across the entire world, whereas others are very localized.
Purges may or may not work and sometimes they work intermittently on servers due to the purge
system itself being buggy; this is no fault of DMTools (unfortunately, otherwise, I’d fix it) but
hopefully the purges work, and if they don’t, they will once the system gets fixed properly.
In addition to these feats, there are several feats that can be learned by the players but only if given
the correct Scroll, Blueprint or Schematic for them.
These feats are hidden by default and can only be activated if a player is given said Scrolls or
Schematics by a server-admin.
A great way to build an economy around these is to use the Pippi-Mod to sell them from vendors or
hook them up as random loot in the world.
These feats are not covered here- rather, they’re covered in their own feature-section (since they
belong to features in the game)
Ornate Chests
This feat can be found in the Survival category under “Boxmaker” and gives access to some new
visuals for chests.
Ancient Languages
This feat can be found in the Survival category and has its own section there. This feat does nothing
by itself, but we will revisit it below for a complete explanation about what the heck this feature
does.
Lockpicks
These feats can also be found in the Survival category under the heading “Stone Tools”. These feats
will – by themselves – not be useful unless the Dungeon Master uses the rest of the feature. Again,
more about this later.
Incinerator
This feat can be found in the Decoration tab of the Feat UI. The Incinerator only has a single
inventory slot, but that’s all it needs. Putting any item into this slot will destroy it immediately.
Keeper Thralls
Keeper thralls spawn randomly with this mod – Keeper thralls can be used for any non-automatic
crafting station such as the Firebowl Cauldron, Blacksmith’s Bench and Artisan Table.
They will confer the exact same bonuses as normal thralls of the equivalent tier, but do not have
bonus recipes. They can – in addition – be placed into the Eldritch Workbench, where all the
specializations do their crafting in order to grant the same bonuses there.
New Bosses
DMTools introduces new boss-monsters. Some of these have special features such as the Geddon
Spider and True Hive Queen while others are harder versions of existing bosses. These bosses need
to be spawned from the Admin panel by server admins or through the Grove Portals)
“But why?!” I hear you cry (for the bosses that drop no loot) – the reason is quite simple: Some
Dungeon Masters simply want to watch the world burn. Oh wait, no… actually – since it’s possible to
assign loot to bosses using Pippi, these bosses are there for the Dungeon Masters who rather set up
these bosses individually rather than using what DMTools set up as a default.
The bosses that DO drop loot drop a random amount of “Claim Token” items. We will cover these
later (specifically in the next section), but for now – suffice to say that Claim Tokens give you
legendary loot.
The bosses that DMTools come with are (at the time of writing, the list may expand):
These bosses are on the difficulty level of the so-called “World Bosses” from the base-game (or in
some cases, tougher) and can be spawned into the world through the admin panel by searching for
“DMT”.
New Raid bosses
Raid-bosses can be spawned through the Admin Panel. These raid-bosses have a tremendous
amount of health, do equally tremendous amounts of damage and drop massive amounts of loot.
Well – the regular ones do – the “_noloot” versions do not, as they’ll need to be set up by the
admins on the server using (for example) Pippi.
These are the bosses available as raid-bosses (at the time of writing, this list may expand):
Also – these monsters are truly gigantic in size, and I recommend admins to test them out before
suddenly dropping them into the house of an unsuspecting victim player, no matter how much fun
that may be.
These bosses are very powerful and will be challenging even for a fully kitted out DMT player. They
are intended for end-game content for custom dungeons for players that need more challenging
content than normal.
Claim Tokens / New Legendaries
Claim Tokens in DMTools are items that, when used, gives the player a random legendary item from
the list of legendary items in the mod.
Do note that Claim tokens to NOT randomly grant legendaries from the base game – so you will
never get a “Lovetap”, “Adventurer’s Blade” or “Hanuman’s Gada” from using a Claim Token.
Instead, loads of new legendary items have been crafted (tools, weapons, armors) for this purpose.
A total of 230+ new legendary items have been created – some of these are incredibly powerful,
others merely fun, and yet others have custom properties. I will not list all the items that are
available through the mod here, but let’s take a few random examples…
Some of these weapons are more usable in PvP, while others are more useable for PvE. Here is a
selection of the existing Legendaries (there are more than this – this is just a short list of some of
them to give as an example):

So, where do I get these?
You didn’t read the section about bosses above, did you? Fear not – besides bosses, these can of
course also be given out by server admins, bought from server vendors (if they exist), or – you can
craft them yourself if you have an Eldritch Forge as explained below.
Eldritch Forge
The Eldritch forge is a placeable machine that allows
you to disassemble legendary items into Eldritch Dust.
From Eldritch Dust you can make several things,
including Claim tokens.
Players can customize Eldritchforged weapons by dragging modifications onto them. These
modifications grant more power to the weapon itself in the form of stamina-damage, stamina-
consumption, heavy/light attack damage, armor penetration and so forth, and can also add buffs to
the weapon, or debuffs to targets.
It's possible to place 5 modifications on a single Eldritchforged weapon and the rules for that is as
follows:
In addition, there are several things to consider when crafting Eldritchforged weapons:
Examples
To give a few examples: For a single weapon, you could put this in:
OR
OR
If players do not have the Eldritch Forge feat, they also have no use for the Eldritch Dust, unless that
is used in other places on the server – which is perfectly possible. It should be noted, however, that
many features in the mod uses the Eldritch Dust as a base concept for crafting.
The idea behind the Ancient Scrolls is to create a marketplace and interdependency between players
for resources and unique items granted by the Specializations. You can of course ignore this
completely and give them out willy-nilly – it’s all up to you.
Important note for Admins: You only have to give players access to the FIRST ancient scroll of any
specialization – players themselves can get to the second and third tier of their specialization by
themselves, this is built into the feature and you don’t have to worry about it.
Architect
Architects are expert carpenters and can create lock pickable doors, wall chests, a variety of unique
placeables, mini-vaults and secret passages that look like walls but functions as doors, and more.
They can also further unlock the ability to grow a variety of trees.
Metalwright
Metalwrights are blacksmithing prodigies that can craft grindstones that repair weapons, powerful
furnaces, and improve the designs of (some) legendary weapons.
Skinweaver
Skinweavers know the secrets of armor-crafting and hide-working.
They gain access to custom armors, reinforcement kits, the Builder Workgloves which doubles the
output of building pieces, backpacks, shields and more.
Gourmand
The Gourmand knows their way around the
kitchen and farms of your land.
Breaker
The Breaker is a slave master and can craft
various décor-items, knockout truncheons, and
faster Wheels of Pain.
Thaumaturge
Thaumaturges know the art of miracle-working,
primarily through alchemy. They can craft
powerful elixirs and infusions that allow them to
turn some materials into other materials.
Specialization Crafting
Each specialization learns how to make one or more core ingredients that are used in crafting of
their items. For example, the Metalwright learns how to make “Eldritch Steel Bars”. These are used
for most of the recipes from that specialization.
As you progress in the specializations, you will notice that some recipes require ingredients from
other specializations. You will need to either learn those specializations to gain access to them – or –
trade items from someone who has this specialization.
If you are a server admin and you need to have a strict and stringent control over the economy of
crafting, I recommend that you do not use specializations, OR, limit the access to the Eldritch Forge,
Claim tokens or Eldritch Dust.
The Lockpicking feats to craft the lockpicks are available under the “Stone Tools” feat in the Survival
tab of the Feat menu. These feats give access to an increasingly effective series of lockpicks, with the
Master Lockpick being the best one.
In order to use the lockpicks, someone needs to have built a lock-pickable door. If you have lockpicks
in your inventory and use such a door, your character will attempt to pick the lock.
You can identify the doors that can be lockpicked easily by simply mousing over them and reading
“Door (Hard)” or “Door (Medium”) for example.
Doors have a difficulty level (1-3) and Lockpicks have a quality level (1-5). Depending on the
combination of the two numbers, a success percentage chance is calculated. The lower the quality of
the lock and the higher the quality of the pick, the greater chance for success.
Lockpicks have a chance of breaking, independent on if you picked the lock or not. This breakage
chance is lowered the higher level lockpicks you use.
New Dyes
DMTools provides several new dyes. Some of these are obnoxious whereas others are more useful.
These dyes cannot be crafted directly.
Instead, they need to be made available by a server admin, or, you can craft the Dye Claim Token
from the Firebowl Cauldron (If you have the Eldritch Forge feat) – a Dye Claim Token will grant you 5
random dyes from the mod.
Given enough time and perseverance you can obtain all of them this way. However – I recommend
server admins grant these in other ways instead.
New Placeables
There are a lot (A LOT) of new placeables in the DMTools mod – most of these are décor items that
are meant for server admins to create new areas with to create adventures, quests and so forth.
Some placeables (although not all) have special functions and we will go over those specifically. This
is quite a large category of objects to go over, so strap in and let’s check it out.
Most of these items have placement rules that allow them to be placed (almost) wherever you
please – meaning – you can place down a giant tree and have another giant tree grow from the side
of it if you like. Or – you can place down a Statue that has a bed stuck to the side of its head and that
bed balances a tree on it. This is so that you can place most of the items in the exact way that you
would like to with minimal fussing about.
With that said, there are some specific items and item-types that are worth mentioning…
Particle Emitters
Particle Emitters spawn particles where they are placed – these particles range from swarms of bats,
to sandstorms to balefire or just fog. You can recognize the particle emitters on their “FX” icon.
Once you have placed a particle emitter, you will see an urn – you can interact with this urn to pick
up the particle emitter once placed. If you (the owner) come near the urn, it will become visible –
however, it will remain invisible for anyone else but you.
Worth noting: Particles can be very cool – but also very taxing on the framerate of certain
computers (low end specs typically) so use these in moderation.
One-Way Portal
These placeables can only be passed if you come from the GREEN side of it. These can be used to
great effect together with Pippi teleporters or simply prevent players from easily leaving boss arenas
that you create for yourself.
Ancient Caches
Ancient Caches are a way for server admins to give items to players when they interact with the
cache. There are two types of Ancient Caches:
The Unstable Ancient Cache will remove itself after the first player has interacted with it whereas
the other one stays around. Both caches can only be interacted with once per server restart.
As a server admin, you will need to select what items are gifted to players once they interact with
these placeables. If you – as an admin – interact with these, you will notice that they have an
inventory slot. Put the item you want to reward players with into this slot, and every time the
players interact with it, they will be granted this item. You only ever need to put this item in once.
This is a great way to give players rewards at the end of a dungeon or event if you run them
regularly.
Messages
These items ignore land-claim and can be used to place on horizontal or vertical surfaces. Admins
should use caution handing these items out, as they can be used in intrusive ways.
Town Markers
Town Markers work like region markers in that they show an icon on the map as well as notify
people entering the area of the name. The difference is that the sign that is placed does not go away
when moving away from it. This is to allow server admins to give away these markers and still easily
be able to clear them up should it be needed.
Reward Chests
Reward Chests are another way of giving players
rewards. Players can interact with these reward
chests and be given items you decide when
doing so. Here’s how it works:
Region Markers
Region Markers allow you to create explorable regions in your world and (if you want to) attach
icons to these so they show up on the world map.
When you first place a region marker, you will notice that you are placing a sign. You will need to
write on the sign what you want the region to be named, and once you have committed to the text
on the sign, you can simply leave the immediate area and the sign will work.
If you – the owner – come close to where you put the sign, it will become visible and allow you to
edit it if you please. You can also remove these signs at any time you want to.
There is a small, a medium and a large Region Marker – these also come with variations that allow
you to place down map markers such as dungeons, combat encounters and so forth.
These map markers are very useful if you have an NPC trading city hub or something like that and
you want everyone on the server to know where it is and what it’s called.
Mine
The mine allows you to collect stone, ironstone, silver stone and gold stone over time. Every 30
seconds, the mine has a chance of spawning either of the resources, with a weighted chance
towards stone. I recommend you try this out as a server admin before handing it out willy-nilly, as it
can easily disrupt economies of a server if these things become commonplace.
There are two mines – these mines gather materials at different speeds.
Schematics
Schematics are items that, when consumed, grant a feat and recipes to the player. I won’t go into
detail about what every single schematic in the mod teaches you, but below are some of them:
Resource Bundle
o Allows storing basic resources en masse inside them
Eldritch Forge
o Gives access to crafting Claim Tokens from dismantled Legendary items
o There is also a “Light” version of this which gives the same recipes, except for the
Claim Token that needs to be learnt from yet another Schematic. This is for servers
where DM’s do not want to give out Claim tokens by having players craft them.
Quiver
o Allows storing arrows (a lot of them) inside it. Made from meat. Don’t ask.
Experimental Blacksmith’s Bench
o Allows crafting random quality items from Fragments of Power
Prismatic Candles
o Allows crafting candles that glow with colored lights
Murky Torches
o Allows crafting torches that give off less light than normal for that gloomy feel
Wigs
o Allows crafting of male and female wigs.
Egg Farmer
o Allows crafting of Shoebill and Ostrich farms that gives eggs over time
Dragonite Weapons
o Allows crafting of Dragonite weapons that are heavier and do more damage than
regular dragon bone weapons
Arborealist
o (Also available through the Gourmand specialization) Allows you to craft trees
Home Portal
o Three variants of this exists – a one-use home portal, a 10-use home portal and an
infinite use home portal
Toxin Craft
o Allows crafting of various new poisons that do everything from imbue your weapon
with Heatstroke and Frostbite to Sunder and Bleed.
Arbelist
o Allows crafting of a basic crossbow and ammunition
Heavy Crossbow
o Allows crafting of a high level crossbow and ammunition
Radium Gem Décor
o Allows crafting of various radium gem placeables – single gems or clusters are
available for a total amount of 18 placeables. The thaumaturge specialization also
gain access to these.
Siege Engineer
o This grants two new recipes – both for improved ammunition for the Trebuchet.
Dragon-Fire Barrage and Heavy Siege Boulder.
Wild Call Tokens / Grove Portals / Wild Call Portals
Grove portals and Wild Call portals allow players to spawn bosses into the world by using tokens.
These bosses can then be defeated in order to earn loot as set up by the server admin, or by just
using the version of bosses that drop the Claim tokens.
There are several different Portals that function slightly differently. All of them use Wild Call Tokens,
however.
Languages
Players automatically learn a feat named “Ancient Languages” on starting the game with this mod
installed. The feat does nothing by itself, it merely acts as a category holder for the language feats.
Learning a new language allows you to write notes in this language and place them in the world –
these notes function exactly as any other note would with the following exception:
Anyone that does not know the language will not be able to read these notes.
Each of the languages need to be granted by the server admin and each of them have their
respective dictionary.
Atlantean Zhemri
Acheronian Hyperborean
Barachan Ancient Stygian (Khari)
Black Kingdom Lemurian
Serpent-Men Valusian
Wishing Well
The Wishing well placeable can be used by players provided they have a “Gambler’s Coin”. If using
the well under such circumstances, it may randomly (at a rate of about 30%) grant you a reward.
Some rewards are nicer than others, with a relatively high percentage chance of getting Eldritch Dust
and a smaller percentage chance of getting things like the Fragment of Power or Tablet of Power.
Admin-power Items
There are a few items in the mod that are meant exclusively for admins, as they gain a lot of power
from these. These items are as follows:
It should be obvious what these items do, and hope you never need to know if you don’t.
Crown of Mastery
The Crown of Mastery should only ever be owned by a single player on the server. Once worn, it
puts a map-marker on the map showing where the crown is located. It also grants the wearer a
tremendous number of bonuses.
Memory of Me
When first used, this item stores the level and Feat points of a character. On the second use, it will
restore those values for a character. This is meant for server admins to grant players that need to
reset for whatever reason and recreate their character. Note that the item DOES NOT restore
learned recipes from dungeons, and it likely does not work well with leveling mods. Use with
extreme caution.
Home Portals
There are three different kinds of Home portals – a one-time use portal, a 10-time use portal and an
infinity-portal. These take a lot of resources to craft but allow for teleporting home. Use it once to
set the location and use it again to teleport home.
Elixir of the Journeyman
This grants a player all the Journey steps in the game. Since this also grants a fair amount of
experience points, be aware of this. It WILL also complete the achievement for completing all
journey steps.
Startup Bundle
This item is intended for admins to give players after a reset. It grants a large amount of building and
base resources
Levelling Elixirs
These items are intended for admins to give to players after a reset to get them quickly back up and
running. There are several levelling elixirs, which all sets the player to a specific level.
Helmet Stands
Helmet stands are containers that have a single slot. Putting a helmet into this slot will make the
stand display the helmet.
Aspects
These are admin-only items that can be equipped on thralls, players or Pippi Thespians as armor.
They will replace the entire visual of the character and replace them with the look of an undead, a
Dagon half breed, and various other visuals. At the time of writing the following visuals can be
chosen from:
Secret Items
There are a few secret items available in the mod as well – these items are not items that should be
used on the server as a regular thing, not even for fun, as they may break your or someone elses
character.
These items cannot be spawned through the admin-chest, nor can they be spawned through the
cheat-menu. You need to spawn the Template IDs in order to do so. I will not describe what they do
because you shouldn’t use them. But since you will anyway (especially now that I’ve repeatedly told
you not to), here they are:
First, make sure that you are an admin – if you’re not an admin, press the Tilde-key to
activate the console and type:
MakeMeAdmin xxx
Where “xxx” is the password you have set up for yourself. If you are playing single player,
you can type anything, you’ll automatically become an admin.
Now press “Shift” and “Insert” at the same time and you will get the admin panel. On the
right-hand side, you can find the item panel, you may need to search all the different
categories (Resources, Gear, Building, Other) to find exactly what you need.
How can I see the hidden bonuses for the Affinity weapons such as Blade of Agility?
You can’t because the damage value shown doesn’t take this into consideration (nor can it).
However – the bonus is calculated like this: For every point put into the weapons affinity
attribute, the weapon does an extra 0.5 damage, meaning, if you have maxed out Grit to 50
and get a Grit Affinity weapon, you should do an extra +25 base damage.
Great! Let’s hear it. Post it somewhere like the Discord and whomever is writing this may
pick up on it!
Not that I am aware of. It should be quite safe. For items, spawns, feats and so forth, the
mod uses the range 2709000-2711999. If another mod on a server uses the same range,
there may be overlaps but I have gone to the extent possible to avoid such overlaps.
The mod does not modify any game base assets whatsoever, so is completely safe to remove
if you should want to.
No. I prefer to not maintain a specific server that hosts this mod. There are several servers
that do host DMTools, but they are not official servers for it.
