Brief report of the programme/ The Anti-Drug Awareness Class
seminar was successfully conducted on
March 10, at the College
Auditorium, organized by IQAC
and Vimukti Cell in collaboration
with the Block Panchayat. The
session aimed to educate students
on the dangers of drug abuse and
the importance of a drug-free
society.
The program commenced with a
welcome speech by K.K Beena,
Principal of RMCTE, who
highlighted the significance of
spreading awareness about
substance abuse among students
and educators. Following this, P.
Saneesh, Member of Iritty Block
Panchayat gave the felicitation
address, emphasizing the role of
educational institutions in shaping
responsible citizens and combating
drug addiction. The program was
inaugurated by P. Srimathi,
President of Thillenkeri Panchayat.
The awareness session was
conducted by Sanesh K. P,
Preventive Officer, Vimukti
Mission, Kannur. He provided
valuable insights into the various
forms of substance abuse, their
impact on individuals and society,
and the legal consequences of
drug-related offenses. He also
discussed preventive measures and
the importance of community
participation in eradicating drug
abuse.
The program concluded with a vote
of thanks by Ambili O.S, Assistant
Professor of English Department.
The session was highly informative
and impactful, encouraging
students to be vigilant and
proactive in promoting a drug-free
environment.
