OVERVIEW: A business plan is a written document, which described the proposed business
or project to be undertaken in a comprehensive manner.

INSTRUCTIONS
⮚ This is a group assignment of 4 to 5 members.
⮚ The group needs to prepare a business plan for ONE selected business.
⮚ The business must be a PARTNERSHIP.

General Guidelines

1. The students are required to form groups (4 to 5 members only); positions: General
Manager; Administration Manager; Marketing Manager; Operation Manager; Financial
Manager.

2. The groups need to prepare a business plan for a selected business (it is good if the
groups are able to find one existing company as a role model (optional) as a guidance in
preparing the business plan).

3. The groups need to create an interesting name and logo of the business/company. The
groups are NOT ALLOWED to use Sdn. Bhd./Pte. Ltd. for the name of the business/
company

4. A letter from the lecturer can be prepared to assist the students to visit the company.

5. Form of business: Partnership (business owned by TWO or MORE persons (NOT


exceeding 20 persons) who share ownership, contribute money, skills and other
resources and share profit and loss in accordance with terms of the partnership agreem
ent).

6. Size of INITIAL CAPITAL/START-UP CAPITAL (project implementation cost):


RM100,000 – RM500,000

7. Contribution 70%:30% or 60%:40% (own contribution:loan)

8. OWN CONTRIBUTION of each member: RM5,000 – RM10,000

9. The SALES FORECAST (Marketing Plan): RM100,000 – RM700,000 (Year 1)

10. The groups should be able to show the UNIQUENESS, DIFFERENCES of their
businesses (product/service)

11. The groups are required to develop/offer their OWN products/services, not to outsource
to any other organizations.

12. The groups are advised NOT to do business that is related to vaping, cigarette, games,
alcohol, farming and gardening (orchard, rearing cattle or sheep, fish or shrimp farms).
13. The groups should “have” a physical store, NOT a fully online business, NOT to
build/have a factory, food truck, stall, kiosk, vending machine.

14. The maximum number of pages for the report is 50-70 pages.

15. The report should be prepared based on the TEMPLATE provided.

16. BUSINESS IS NOT STARTING YET…..IT IS JUST A PLAN (business may start
next year -- 2026)

4.1 Product/Service Description (This section describes the products offered by the
business in detail. The proposed products or services should be related to the needs and
wants of the target customers.)
Example: Lil Muffin Cafe has perfected the art of baking breakfast, lunch and
snacks. The muffins will be baked with wholesome recipes, quality ingredients and an
abundance of passion. Each of the muffin will be offered with freshest and healthiest
ingredients such as dried or fresh fruits, nuts, chocolate, extracts, herbs and spices,
cornmeal, bran, oats, dates – giving customers enjoy every bite as well as concern about

Project implementation cost All costs that involved in running/starting the business

7.0 CONCLUSION - (5 marks)

End with a brief conclusion and the next step of action to be taken. The
conclusion can include the entrepreneur’s decision on how to proceed next. It can be
statement providing viability of the proposal business and seeking grants or loan
approval.
Give a brief summary of the main contents, the main purpose of the Business
Plan (if this Business Plan is prepared for a bank, then highlight again the purpose of
obtaining working capital loan from the bank) and other related points to bring the total
plan.

8.0 APPENDICES - (5 marks)

advertisements that describe the product or service—business card, flyers, banner,
bunting, website, etc.)
