LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to read and identify with support beginning,
medial and final sounds in colour words.

C At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to spell colour words correctly.

1. Teacher write colour words on the board with mixed letters.


I. PRE-LESSON
2. Ask pupils to guess or correct the words.

1. Teacher draws a map and inivites pupils to write the colour words.
2. Teacher and pupils review the words.
3. Pupils are instructed to open their activity book.
4. Teacher and pupils go through the numbers inside some of the things in
the picture, and the number key
e.g. 1 = blue, 2 = green
II. LESSON 5. Pupils colour the picture appropriately, according to the number key.
DEVELOPMENT 6. Pupils compare their answers in pairs before the class check.
7. Teacher distributes worksheet to pupils.
8. Pupils then draw their own picture and create their own key.
9. Monitor and help as and when necessary.
10. Pupils exchange their drawing with a partner.
11. Pupils colour the picture according to the key and check each other’s
work.
1. Teacher selects a few pupils’ work and displays two pictures on the board.
2. Pupils look at the pictures and spot 4 differences.
III. POST LESSON
3. Focus on colours of the objects.
4. Teacher gives feedback and wraps the lesson.
