Abstract Big Data, analytics intelligence, and Data Science are important for academia and industries. My
recent publications focus on them. However, this article only reviews the books I read and the books I searched
in order to publish more books and facilitate the research and development of Big Data, analytics intelligence,
and Data Science. The issues of this article are as follows. 1. What is the relation between analytics and
intelligence? 2. What is the relationship between Business Intelligence and Analytics? 3. What is the relation
between Business Intelligence and Analytics, as well as data intelligence? The proposed approach in this article
might facilitate the research and development of big data, big data analytics, business analytics and business
intelligence as well as big data computing and big data science.

Keywords: Big Data, analytics intelligence, and Data Science, Intelligent Analytics, Data Analytics
intelligence, AI, BI. the Internet of everything.

1 Introduction

Big Data, analytics intelligence, and Data Science are important for academia and industries. My recent
publications focus on them. For example, Intelligent Analytics with Advanced Multi-Industry Applications (Sun
Z. , 2021), Managerial Perspectives on Intelligent Big Data Analytics (Sun Z. , 2019), and Foundations and
Applications of Intelligent Business Analytics (Sun & Wu, 2022), collaborated with IGI-Global, these books
address the above-mentioned issues and challenges by exploring the cutting-edge theories, technologies, and
applications of big data analytics with big data, and highlights the integration of AI, BI, intelligent business, big
data technologies, analytics intelligence, intelligent analytics including intelligent big data analytics from a
perspective of computing, business, service, and management. The upcoming book titled Driving Socioeconomic
Development with big data: Theories, Technologies, and Applications also provides an original and innovative
understanding of big data and constructive insight into how the proposed theories, technologies, and
methodologies of big data technology and analytics can improve socioeconomic development and sustainable
development in terms of e-SMACS business and services, healthcare, IoE (the Internet of everything), sharing
economy, blockchain, 5G/6G technology, cybersecurity, robotic automation, and Industry 4.0 in the real world.
The proposed approaches will facilitate research and development of big data, big data technologies, intelligent
business analytics, big data analytics, data science, digital technology, e-business, service computing, cloud
computing, and social computing, and more.
At least every half year, I will search books using Amazon intensively, although I search more books using
Amazon, Google books sometimes. The “research as a search” helps me to buy books for my teaching and
research, because I have taught about 46 courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the past over 3
decades. This teaching journey also leads to my research and publications (see my publications at
https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Zhaohao-Sun/research). Besides publishing books and research articles and
teaching, reading and reviewing books are also my lifestyle. This article only reviews the books I read and the
books I searched in order to publish more books and facilitate the research and development of Big Data, analytics
intelligence, and Data Science.
The issues of this article are as follows.
What is the relation between analytics and intelligence?
What is the relationship between Business Intelligence and Analytics?
What is the relation between Business Intelligence and Analytics, as well as data intelligence?
All these issues will be focused based on our book’s reviews and the research as search.
The rest of this article is organized as follows: section 2 reviews Books on Big Data, analytics intelligence,
and Data Science. Section 3 looks at Books on Big Data, analytics intelligence, and Data Science based on
Amazon’s search. The final section includes the end of this article.
I teach then I am, I read then I am, I review then I am, I publish then I am. This is the result of I think then I
am (the "first principle" of René Descartes's philosophy).

2 Books on Big Data, analytics intelligence, and Data Science

there are many books on each of the topics, using Google gooks and Amazon’s books. What books I have used for my
teaching and research recently are as follows. Now, we will examine each of them.
(Coronel, Morris, & Rob, 2020) as a classic textbook in the world focusing on Data, database systems, and management.
However, it lacks the investigation into analytics and intelligence, Data intelligence and Data Analytics intelligence.
Laudon & Laudon look at Management Information Systems by investigating data and intelligence. However, they
lack investigation on their relationship on Data intelligence, and Data Analytics intelligence from data, analytics and
intelligence (Laudon & Laudon, 2020).
(Russell & Norvig, 2020) is a classic textbook on Artificial Intelligence (AI) using A Modern Approach. In the
past AI was a knowledge-based intelligence, it is also data-driven intelligence and techniques. However, they
investigating the AI using an agent approach. it has not investigated analytics and intelligence, as well as analytics
intelligence and much more. Further, the agent approach can be also replaced by an interdisciplinary approach (what we
used) and other approaches.
Aroraa, et al, focus on investigating data and analytics. But from a structured viewpoint, Aroraa, et al, have not
classified which are principles, tools, and practices for mentioned topics such as database management systems, data
warehouse, BI, data visualization, big data and machine learning, possible for Data analytics (Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal,
2022). In other words, this book has not really discussed Data analytics, although it is titled Principles, tools, and Practices
for Data analytics (Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal, 2022). (Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal, 2022) is similar to (Sharda, Delen, & Turba,
2018), (Weber, 2020), because Cha 4 and 5 of (Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal, 2022) is similar to Chapter 2 (Sharda, Delen, &
Turba, 2018). Ch 2 (Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal, 2022) is similar to Chapter 3 (Sharda, Delen, & Turba, 2018). The feature of
(Aroraa, Lele, & Jindal, 2022) is that it provided more techniques for big data, Ch6 and Cha7: Introduction to big data
and Hadoop, NoSQL and MaPreduce. It also provided more applications of big data and machine learning. Even so,
Aroraa, et al, have not provided detailed investigation into data analytics, data intelligence, and analytics intelligence.
Brooks investigates Business Intelligence and Analytics from Concepts, Techniques, and Applications (Brooks, 2022).
This book consists of five chapters: Ch1. Introduction to BI, Ch2. Understanding of Business analytics, Cha3, data for BI
and analytics; Ch4, Operational Intelligence, and Ch5: Role of analytics for business Decision making. However, this
book lacks detailed investigation into Business Intelligence and Analytics. This book also lacks investigating related topics
on various kinds of BIs and business analytics at a very shallow level. Even so, Brooks investigated not only Business
Intelligence but also more intelligences on business such as market intelligence and location intelligence is important.
This leads to a significant question: what is the difference between Business Intelligence and other intelligences such as
market intelligence. What is the interrelationship between Intelligence and analytics? What is the minimum intelligence
and maximum intelligence?
Thompson & Rogers focus on Analytics based on their understanding of How to Win with Intelligence (Thompson &
Rogers, 2017). They first provided the competitive advantage stemming from analytics (Ch1) and understanding advanced
analytics (Ch2) and the age of the algorithm economy (Ch3), and the modern data systems (Ch4) and then provided a few
business cases. Their discussion on operational analytics (Cha 7) are similar to Ch4, Operational Intelligence of (Brooks,
2022). The challenging question for these two books is what is the relation between analytics and intelligence. However,
they have not investigated Business Intelligence and Analytics, as well as data intelligence.
EMC (EMC, 2015) provides big data analytics, data analytics lifecycle, and advanced analytical theory and methods
using R. From a research methodological perspective, the authors classify the advanced analytical theory and methods
into clustering, association rules, regression, classification and more, the latter have been considered as the functions of
data mining (Kantardzic, 2011). However, EMC has no interest in implementing data intelligence, analytics intelligence
and their interrelationships.
(Sharda, Delen, & Turba, 2018) and (Sharda R. , Delen, Turban, & King, 2018) focus on Business Intelligence,
Analytics, and Data Science, they look at data, big data, BI, analytics. In particular, they investigated techniques and tools
in analytics (descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics). The good strength is that they process techniques and
tools in analytics in an excellent structure. This is the first book for processing analytics using this structure. However,

2
they have not processed diagnostic analytics, They also have not investigated the relationship between Business
Intelligence and Analytics.

Ghavami investigated Big Data Analytics Methods: Analytics Techniques in Data Mining, Deep Learning and Natural
Language Processing (Ghavami, 2020). Ghavami first looks at part1: big data analytics, consisting of Data analytics
overview (Ch1), Basic Data analysis (Ch2) and data analytics Process (Ch3), and then the part2: advanced analytics
methods, consisting of Ch4, Natural Language Processing, Ch5 Qualitative analysis, Ch6, Advanced analytics and
predictive modelling, Ch7 Ensemble of Models, Ch8, Machine learning and deep learning, Ch9 Model and optimization.
The book also provides case study. Therefore, from a methodological perspective, Ghavami also used models and
methods to discuss data and big data. He also classifies big data analytics and then advanced analytics methods. From a
technique viewpoint, this book is a detailed data/analytics method for (Sharda, Delen, & Turba, 2018) and (Sharda R. ,
Delen, Turban, & King, 2018) focuses. Even so, both books have good structures from a structurist and modelling
viewpoint.

Weber looks at data and big data, data science, intelligence, AI, advanced AI, machine learning, analytics and cyber
security (Weber, 2020), although he does not discuss analytics intelligence. His book is an introduction to all the
mentioned topics. There are also a lot of good ideas in his discussion, although he contributed a number of good ideas in
this book on big data, data science, AI and cyber security, however, the lack of references damaged this book.

Similar to (Weber, 2020), Hurley also introduced big data, data science, AI and business intelligence (BI), data
analytics, machine learning, data mining, and the Internet of things (IoT) (Hurley, 2019). Different from (Weber, 2020),
(Hurley, 2019) has no references, which also damaged this book. Even so, his discussion on descriptive, predictive and
prescriptive analytics can provide a bitter understanding of data analytics as a classification. These two books can be
considered as a new type of publishing, open free publishing, like open software, different from normal publishers. Maybe
their publishing experience deserved attention.

From a technique and application viewpoint, Wade (Wade, 2020) looks at Advanced Analytics in Power BI with R
and python (Wade, 2020), Pittman uses Google Analytics and GA4 to Improve your online sales by better understanding
customer data (Pittman, 2022). Both can be considered a technique and application for understanding of data, analytics
and intelligence. Both have an impact on the techniques of data analytics and BI.

There are two books on intelligence: (Hawkins, 2021), and (Bostrom, 2014). Hawkins provides a new theory on
intelligence. Mostrom looks at paths, Dangers, Strategies towards Superintelligence, which is a kind of intelligence. Both
books might be useful for investigating data, analytics, and intelligence, for example, Mostrom’s collective
Superintelligence and digital intelligence pp.65-74 and Hawkins’s human intelligence pp.171-241.

All these books have not processed data, analytics, intelligence and their relationships properly.
All these books ignore the relationship between data, information, knowledge, intelligence and wisdom. all these books
ignore the analytics and intelligence, and intelligent analytics with applications in business and other fields.
Some focus on one part, and ignore other parts and lack ignorance between data, analytics, intelligence and their
interrelationships. For example, they also ignored the relation between data, information and knowledge as well as
intelligence, between intelligence, wisdom and mind.

BTW, the author has published three research books on intelligence, big data analytics (see more at Amazon.com:
Zhaohao Sun).
Sun Z & Wu Z (2022) Handbook of Research on Foundations and Applications of Intelligent Business Analytics. IGI-
Global, USA, 425 pages (Sun & Wu, 2022)
Sun Z (2021) Intelligent Analytics with Advanced Multi-industry Applications. IGI-Global, USA, editor and author.
392 pages (Sun Z. , 2021)
Sun Z (2019) Managerial Perspectives on Intelligent Big Data Analytics. IGI-Global, USA, 335 pages (Sun Z. , 2019a)
And more than 50 research papers. All these encourage the author to publish this book. The challenging questions in
this article are
what is the relation between analytics and intelligence?
What is the relationship between Business Intelligence and Analytics?
what is the relation between Business Intelligence and Analytics, as well as data intelligence?
3 Amazon searching for Books

Using the research as a search for searching books, I have removed all the redundancy. Therefore, I only know
what it is.

3.1 Analytics Intelligence and Meta Intelligence

08 12 22 Today, I search Amazon “books”. “analytics intelligence”, "meta intelligence"
2 books on "meta intelligence". First is “Meta Intelligence: Why it matters more than IQ or EQ by Justice Royal
| May 30, 2020” is worth attention for further research. I believe that in 2022 there will be books on it. However,
no books on “metaintelligence”. This comment is similar to that of 21 11 21.

Essential Statistics for Artificial Intelligence, by Dr Allen Brown | Jul 27, 2022, $14.43
The book summarizes “The skill set that every Artificial Intelligence Engineer should possess is expected to
include a working knowledge of statistics. This is especially true for those working with big data. In many ways
the statistics skills are very different from those of an applied mathematician, The latter focuses on model creation
and precision, whereas the statistician focuses on the inference of useful information drawn from huge amounts
of processed data. Now the Artificial Intelligence engineer is expected to draw on both skill sets of an applied
mathematician and a statistician. Both fields provide prediction as an outcome which is often the requirement of
the Artificial Intelligence engineer”.
“This book will provide you with a basic understanding of the statistics you are likely to need when processing
data which requires statistical treatment. Armed with this knowledge and your prior knowledge of AI and bi data,
you should be in a strong position to delineate the processes required in the design of AI algorithms.”

4 Conclusion

Amazon searching for books has kept the author abreast of the state of the art of big data analytics, business
analytics, data science and AI. The books searched by Amazon have provided me with a new key for where we
should go towards publication of a new book in the near future. This will form the book publication proposals for
a publisher within a few months. All books, the newly searched books, and the book manuscripts of the author
provide a new research methodology, new basic structure for scratching one or three books to be published in the
years ahead. Therefore, the proposed approach in this article might facilitate the research and development of big
data, big data analytics, business analytics and business intelligence as well as big data computing and big data
science.
