PROJECT 2: HEALTH IN ADOLESCENCE

Introduction

Adolescence is a crucial stage of life marked by profound physical, emotional, and social
changes. These changes bring unique health challenges that can have lasting impacts on
well-being. Understanding and addressing these issues is essential for fostering healthy
development during this transitional period. This task aims to explore some of the most
pressing health problems affecting adolescents, encouraging critical thinking and
collaboration among students.

Organization of Groups and Topics

1. Group 1: Mental illnesses (anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, among others).

2. Group 2: Eating disorders (EDs) and other eating-related disorders (anorexia,

bulimia, binge eating disorder, etc.).

3. Group 3: Sexual health (STIs, unwanted pregnancies, prevention, and sexual

education).

4. Group 4: Traumas (sports injuries, accidents, violence, etc.).

Structure of the Work

Each group will develop their work following this structure:

1. Title

A catchy title that summarizes the content of the work. Example: "The Invisible Shadow:
Mental Health in Adolescence."

• Clearly define what the work aims to achieve.

• Example: "To understand the main mental illnesses affecting adolescents and
reflect on their impact in our environment."

This section should include:

• General description of the group of disorders: Explain what they consist of and
their importance.

• Main illnesses or types within the group: Describe the most common conditions.

• Incidence in adolescents (or in the general population): Research specific data

in Spain.
• Trends: Analyze whether the incidence has increased or decreased in recent
years.

• Causes: Identify factors that influence the development of these issues.

4. Survey

• Design a survey to gather information about the topic within the school.

• The survey should include:

o Both closed and open-ended questions.

o Example questions:

▪ Do you know what depression is?

▪ Do you think there is enough sexual education in school?

▪ Have you suffered any significant injuries due to physical activity?

5. Conclusion and Personal Opinion

in general. Speak about what you see in your high-school.

• Propose possible solutions or improvements. Including preventive solutions and

healthy habbits.

6. Biblography

sobre el impacto de la IA: [Link]
verdadero-impacto-de-las-nuevas-herramientas-de-IA
• Use some offical web sites such as Ministerio de Sanidad

Final Presentation

• Submission date:

o Theoretical part: Monday 10th of february.

o Survey and conclussions: 21th of february

• Format: Written document and oral presentation with poster 100x70cm

• Presentation:

Good luck with your research and the development of your work!
