ZoBo - Vietnam's No. 1 Football Field Booking Project

Zo - abbreviation of "Zone"
- Represents every sports space
- Suggests the diversity and richness of locations

Bo - abbreviation of "Booking"
- Expresses the action of booking a field quickly and easily
- Suggests convenience and efficiency

Project introduction: The project "Football Field Booking Software Business Plan"
(Football Field Booking Application) provides a convenient solution to help users easily
search and book football fields. This application applies 4.0 technology to the
management and booking of fields, instead of having to directly contact or use manual
platforms such as calling or texting. It supports users in looking up vacant football fields,
prices, and booking fields quickly with just a smart device. We create connections
between players and field owners, helping to book fields, make payments, and notify
regulations and events taking place at the field effectively. This application not only
benefits players but also helps field owners optimize the management and exploitation of
football fields more effectively.

Current problems:
The demand for booking football fields has increased sharply:
In recent years, the number of people participating in sports activities, especially football,
has increased, leading to a significant increase in the demand for finding and booking
football fields, especially in big cities.

Difficulty in managing time and vacant fields:


Field owners often have difficulty in managing vacant fields, field booking time, and
dividing playing slots. This leads to overload or waste of vacant field time.

Transparent and public prices:

The price of the field is not clearly publicized, making it impossible for the field renter to
compare and choose appropriately, causing dissatisfaction and difficulty in making
decisions.

Integrated payment system:


The current payment method is still manual, difficult to track and causes trouble for both
field owners and players.

Business experience: The majority (42.8%) have been in business for 1-3 years, 21.1% have
been in business for over 5 years. This shows a relatively mature market with a mix of
experienced field owners and new entrants.

Business size: 47.4% manage 3-5 fields, 28.3% manage over 5 fields. This is a sign of a market
with many medium and large businesses.

Level of technology application: 78.9% have used a football field rental management
application. This shows that the digitalization trend in the industry is growing strongly.

● Football Pitch Booker

Frequency of play: 55.4% play 2-3 times/week, 18.1% play at least once/week, and 15.1% play
1-2 times/month. This shows that this is a community of regular and active players.

Time of play: 72.3% usually play in the evening, and 16.9% play on weekends. This reflects the
habit of playing football after work and in free time.

Application usage: 48.2% of users have used a football field booking application, while 51.8%
have never used it. The application usage is quite balanced between those who have tried and
those who have not tried it.

General comments:

App usage gap: With 48.2% of users having used the pitch booking app, this shows that there is a
large pool of players with potential to continue developing and promoting the pitch booking app.

Playing habits: With the majority of players playing regularly, it is entirely feasible to develop
features to encourage loyalty and increase app usage.

Evening and weekend playing trends: The need to book pitches in advance and manage playing
schedules effectively will be essential in developing useful features for users.

- Only 10% of users have used it for less than 3 months.
→ This shows that the app has a relatively stable user base, with the majority of users
being familiar with it.

Most useful features:


- The most highly rated feature is finding opponents/teammates (87.5%).
- Other features such as price comparison, booking and paying online, viewing reviews
from other players are also mentioned but at a much lower rate.
→ Clearly, the ability to find opponents/teammates is the core value that the app brings to
users.

Key challenges:
- Slow loading speed is the biggest problem, mentioned by 68.3% of users.
- Other issues such as complex interface, lack of essential features, technical errors, and
missing or inaccurate stadium information were all mentioned by about 6-8% of users.

- Difficulty in canceling/changing stadium bookings was also a notable issue (7.5%).


→ Application speed is an urgent issue that needs to be improved. Other issues, although
not as common, also need to be considered to improve the overall experience.

The main reasons for not using the app are:

- Owners: Unaware of the app’s existence (57.1%), high costs (50%) and
unfamiliarity with technology (21.4%).

- Renters: Unaware (71.6%), prefer traditional booking methods (62.2%) and are
used to using common fields (32.8%).

→ Both groups show a lack of awareness of the app, however, renters seem to be
more attached to traditional booking methods, especially using familiar fields they
have rented before. This may be due to the “familiarity” mentality and comfort
with using familiar methods, leading to difficulty in convincing them to switch to
using the app.

Features that attract them to use the app:

- Owners: Online customer management (50%), sales and business statistics


(50%), school management (42.9%), and customer communication (28.7%).

- Renters: Quick school search (84.9%), price comparison (71.7%), online


booking and payment (52.3%), school information lookup (53.8%), and
promotions/discounts (52.3%).

→ The difference in needs between the two groups is clear. Owners are interested
in features that help them manage and operate their business more efficiently,

while renters are focused on improving the experience of searching and booking
courses. For renters, the ability to quickly search for courses and compare prices
is the main factor in deciding whether they will use the app or not.

Willingness to pay for the app:

- Owners: 28.7% are willing to pay 500,000-1,000,000 VND, 21.4% will pay less
than 500,000 VND and 14.3% for the range of 1-2 million and 2-3 million VND.

- Renters: 50% are willing to pay 5-10% more than the regular price, 32.9% will
not pay more and 16.3% will pay up to 5% more.

→ Owners seem to be willing to invest more in the app due to business


management and operational needs. In contrast, renters tend to be more
price-sensitive, as they only use the app to find and rent a course, and do not want
to pay extra costs.

Main concerns when using the application:


- Owners: Difficulty in use (50%), information security (42.9%), and high cost
(21.4%).

- Tenants: Information security (84.9%), difficulty in using or learning (68%), and


unreliable information (54.7%).

→ Both groups have similar concerns about the security and ease of use of the
application, but tenants are more concerned about these issues. This suggests that
the application needs to be optimized for information security and ease of use to
increase user trust and satisfaction.

Insight
Different needs:
- Stadium owners are interested in revenue management features, customer
information and stadium operations.
- Tenants prioritize quick stadium search, opponent search, price comparison and
online stadium booking.
- Teammate search: The opponent/teammate search feature is rated highest by
87.5% of users, an important factor in retaining users.
