1 CU Close up of Hannah’s face so that we can see a slight 2 secs Shots 1-8:
glint in her eye and how her demeanour has Dialogue
improved. Slight amount of negative space to her only
right to indicate that she’s talking to someone off
screen.
2 CU Mirror image of shot 1 to establish a new connection. 2 secs
Slight negative space to his right.
3 POV Not literally from Hannah’s point of view, but 2 secs
suggested here: looking at Sam as he stands his head
moving out of frame, moving quicker than the
camera tracks him upwards.
4 CU from a We see the cigarette butt thrown into the frame as if 2 secs
high Sam was looking at a patch of the ground specifically
angle to throw the butt into. Same shot as the foot moves
in to stamp out the remnants.
5 POV Similar to shot 3; almost a POV shot from Hannah’s 3 secs
POV-we’re looking up at Sam, him barely turning
around
6 MS Now a medium shot away from the bench looking at 5 secs
them now both in the same shot suggesting a
relationship has formed.
7 MCU Camera moves in tighter now, making it clear that 3 secs
there is a connection. We see his smile now.
8 MLS Same shot as 6 but slightly further away now so that 5 secs Non Diegetic
we see Sam leave the scene. Sound
9 MCU We see the face of two annoyed people looking past 4 secs bridge
the camera into the distance, shaking their heads. between
Behind them in the windows are the reflections of shot 8/9 –
the moon and smaller, redder orbs of light-fires. upbeat
instrumental
melody
10 OTS The camera has now moved behind them with the 5 secs Shots 10-15
camera looking over both their shoulders so that we Diegetic
can see between them the scene that was reflected background
in the window clearer now, but still distant. noise of
11 CU We cut to a close up of a near-black sandy shore line. 5 secs raucous
Feet move into the frame as people walk closer to party
the sea, but then dart out of the frame as the sea atmosphere
comes in further than expected and soaks the feet. - teenagers
12 LS We now see the scene from the opposite end of the 7 secs talking,
beach from shot 10, so that the camera is essentially laughing,
in the sea. We see those who ran from the sea run drunk.

13 CU The same shot from 11 but now of a bright sand, 5 secs
coloured by the fire and the same toes jump into the
scene, kicking up sand.
14 MS We see the campfire in the middle of the screen, 3 secs
fading but flickering away still. Beyond that the 3 girls
sat, all in shot. Hannah leans forward and…
15 MCU …cut to POV style shot, a medium close up of her 3 secs
hands from a high angle, as if she’s looking at them.
We’re not in her POV, but it reminds the audience of
shot 3.
16 MS The camera is now behind the three girls. Hannah still 5 secs Thumping
warming her hands. A passer-by walks behind them, music fades
leans over and throws some sticks on the fire which out to a mild
we now see… murmur.
17 CU …whilst looking at Hannah’s face, the sticks landing 3 secs
into the fire over her shoulder. The fire creates a
glow on her face and the new sticks cause a flicker of
sparks to rise.
