The marks are given in brackets [ ] at the end of each question or part question.

GROUP – A
Answer ANY FIVE questions. [5×3=15]
1. Taking the example of ‘conflicts’ in organizations, explain how the four goals of OB can be
achieved.
2. State any two differences between Type A and Type B personalities giving an example of
each. [2+1]
3. What purposes do ‘norms’ serve in groups?
4. Mention the different ways in which employees learn about their organization’s culture.
5. Very briefly explain the stages of Kurt Lewin’s Model of organizational change.
6. What is the relationship between power and authority?
7. Highlight the difference between groups and teams with an example of each.
8. Distinguish between mood and emotion.

GROUP – B
Answer ANY SEVEN questions. [7×5=35]
9. (a) Explain the concept and types of ‘locus of control’ in the context of personality traits.
(b) Discuss how is locus of control related to:
(i) ‘person-job-fit’,
(ii) job satisfaction, and
(iii) employee turnover [2+3]
10. Discuss with examples any five political strategies applied to acquire power in
organizations.
11. ‘Individuals and groups differ in how they intend to handle conflict.’ Identify and explain
the different conflict handling intentions based on the dimensions of (i) cooperativeness
and (ii) assertiveness based on the following scheme.
12. What are the ‘dark triad’ of personality traits? Explain each trait with an example.
13. ‘Organizational culture refers to a system of shared meaning held by members that
distinguishes one organization from another.’ In the light of this definition discuss the key
dimensions that determine and distinguish the culture of one organization from that of
others.
14. ‘Resistance to change can be both at the individual as well as organizational levels’.
Discuss any two individual sources and any two organizational sources of resistance to
change with examples.
15. Elaborate on any two factors influencing group cohesiveness with relevant examples.
16. Explain the various determinants of learning.
17. What is a perceptual error? Why are halo effect and contrast effect considered as
perceptual error? [2+1.5+1.5]

Answer ANY TWO questions. [2×10=20]
18. Discuss in detail the 5-stage model of group formation with emphasis on how we can
identify the transition from each stage to the next. [10]
19. Distinguish between authority (or positional power) and personal power. Discuss with
suitable examples any two bases of positional power and any two bases of personal
power. [2+(2×2)+(2×2)]
20. Detail and discuss on each of the five factors in the Big Five Theory of Personality. [10]
