Express a point of view and defend it.
WORKSHOPS
The workshop presentations provide you the opportunity to express your communication skills,
knowledge & understanding of concepts learned during the practical study assigned in assignment # 2.
You should use transparencies and any other material for effective presentation. The transparencies are not the

7) Conclusion (one-page brief covering important aspects of your report)
8) Recommendations (specific recommendations relevant to the topic assigned)
GUIDELINES FOR WORKSHOP PRESENTATION:
Make eye contact and react to the audience. Don't read from the transparencies or the report, and
don't look too much at the transparencies (occasional glances are acceptable to help in recalling the
topic to cover).
A 15-minute presentation can be practised several times in advance, so do that until you are
confident enough. Some people also use a mirror when rehearsing as a substitute for an audience.
WEIGHTAGE OF THEORY & PRACTICAL ASPECTS IN ASSIGNMENT # 2 & WORKSHOP
PRESENTATIONS
Assignment # 2 & workshop presentations are evaluated based on theory & its applicability. The

5. Introduction
Brief History of Data Analysis
Data analysis has its roots in statistical methods developed in the 18th and 19th centuries. With
the advent of computers in the 20th century, data analysis evolved into a more sophisticated
discipline, incorporating techniques from mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Today,
data analysis is a cornerstone of fields such as business, healthcare, finance, and social sciences,
enabling organizations to make data-driven decisions.
Significance of Data Analysis
Data analysis plays a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights. It helps
organizations identify trends, optimize processes, and predict future outcomes. In the era of big
data, the ability to analyze large datasets efficiently has become a competitive advantage.
However, challenges such as data quality, privacy concerns, and the complexity of analytical
tools remain significant barriers to effective data analysis.
6. Practical Study of the Organization
Case Study: Amazon's Use of Data Analysis
Amazon, a global leader in e-commerce, exemplifies the practical application of data analysis.
The company uses data analysis to optimize its supply chain, personalize customer experiences,
and predict demand. For instance, Amazon's recommendation engine analyzes customer behavior
to suggest products, driving sales and customer satisfaction.
Challenges Faced by Amazon
Despite its success, Amazon faces challenges in data analysis, such as ensuring data privacy,
managing the volume of data, and addressing biases in algorithms. These challenges highlight
the need for robust data governance and ethical considerations in data analysis.
7. Data Collection Methods
The data for this report was collected through:
1. Literature Review: Analysis of peer-reviewed articles, books, and reports on data
analysis techniques and applications.
2. Case Studies: Examination of organizations like Amazon to understand practical
applications of data analysis.
3. Interviews: Informal discussions with data analysts and professionals to gather insights
on real-world challenges and best practices.
4. Secondary Data: Use of publicly available data from industry reports and organizational
case studies.
8. SWOT Analysis
Strengths
Enables data-driven decision-making, improving efficiency and accuracy.
Facilitates the identification of trends and patterns, supporting strategic planning.
Enhances customer experiences through personalization and predictive analytics.
Weaknesses
Requires significant resources, including skilled personnel and advanced tools.
