Change compared to In the case of visible scuffing damage to the oil pump, a gear from the range-change group
the previous version and the pinion shaft on the retarder must also be renewed for gearboxes with retarder and
the work carried out in accordance with SI 6867TA.

Problem  Leak between the oil pump housing and clutch housing and/or
 Diagnostic memory entry 6061 in the gearbox control unit and/or
 broken gearbox brake driver and/or
 scuffing damage on the oil pump
Remedy  Replace the oil pump, gearbox brake driver and the oil pump housing on the
MAN TipMatic 14 gearbox with modified components as described on page 3.
The components in new version are already installed in the gearboxes starting from the
following serial numbers:
Oil pump housing with seal as from serial number 1508721
Gearbox brake driver and oil pump as from serial number 1539535
 If the gearbox brake driver is broken, it is also necessary to:
 Renew the discs of the gearbox brake.
 Renew gearbox oil filter.
 Change gearbox oil.
 If the oil pump in gearboxes with retarder shows visible scuffing damage, carry out the
following additional work:
 Renew PTO gear and pinion shaft on the retarder.
 Carry out work in accordance with SI 6867TA.

Check and repair the gearbox brake, the oil pump and the oil pump housing

 If an oil pump and a gearbox brake driver in the previous version are installed:
 Replace the previously installed oil pump with the new version 81.32208-0043 and the previously installed gearbox
brake driver with the new version 81.32208-0042.

 If an oil pump and/or a gearbox brake driver in the new version have already been installed:
 The oil pump and gearbox brake driver can be reused unless they are damaged.

 If the oil pump housing was sealed with sealing agent:


 Replace the oil pump housing by the new version of the oil pump housing 81.38604-0039 with seal.

 If an oil pump housing with seal is already fitted:


 Renew seal.
 Do not renew the oil pump housing.

 If the driver of the gearbox brake is broken:


 Replace the disc set of the gearbox brake.
 Renew gearbox oil filter.
 Change gearbox oil.
In this case of a broken driver without scuffing damage to the oil pump, there is no need to replace the pinion shaft on
the retarder and PTO gear:

 If the oil pump shows visible scuffing damage, carry out the following additional work:
 Renew PTO gear in the range-change group and pinion shaft on the retarder.
 Carry out work in accordance with SI 6867TA.
