The Satrughaneshwara temple is in a sequence of
Lakshamneshvara temple. Both are in a row opposite to
Ramesvara tenple of a much later date. These ones have been
regarded as the earliest temples of about end of the 6th
Century or the beginning of the 7th Century AD. The antiquity
has been determined from the paleography of the labels
the grahas carved on the lintel of the northern on
most temples.
Except the sculptured frontage of the southern most
which had survived longer, the rest of themn temple
had already
crumbled. Later on, the remains were also
dismantled
reconstructed by the state archaeological department of and
Orissa.
