THE WORD OF GOD: THE REFINER AND PURIFIER

1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV):

“Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God
which lives and abides forever.”

The Word of God is likened to a seed. Every seed planted in the heart will bear fruit, and these
seeds can be categorized as either corruptible or incorruptible:

 Corruptible Seeds: These include knowledge, information, philosophies, or understanding that

leads people away from God’s truth and His purpose.
 Incorruptible Seeds: These are truths, knowledge, and understanding that bring people closer to
God and reveal the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our emphasis is on “The Seed of God,” which is the Word of God.

Luke 8:11 (NKJV):

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.”

Just as every seed produces fruit of its kind, the Word of God produces good fruit in the lives of
those who receive and nurture it.

Genesis 1:11 (NKJV):

“Then God said, „Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that
yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth‟; and it was so.”

Matthew 7:16-17 (NKJV):

“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from
thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”

These scriptures illustrate a principle and law established by God: every seed reproduces after
its kind. This law applies to all of creation, including humanity. The type of seeds sown into our
hearts determines the fruits we bear—whether good or evil.

How to Bear Good Fruit According to God’s Pattern

If we desire to bear good fruit that aligns with God’s will, we must intentionally plant the seed of
His Word in our hearts.

The key ways to do this are:

1. Reading the Word of God.

2. Hearing the Word of God.
3. Meditating on the Word of God.

These practices allow the Word of God to take root in our minds, transforming our thoughts and
actions.

Important Note: Your eyes and ears are gateways to your mind. What you watch, hear, and
read shapes your thoughts and influences your behavior. The seeds you allow into your mind
today will inevitably bear fruit—either good or bad. These fruits become evident in your actions
and ultimately define the outcome of your life.

To purify and refine your mind, you must allow the Word of God to transform you.

Romans 12:2 (AMP):

“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but
be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your
mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves]
what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose
for you].”

Conclusion

To rise above the standards and perceptions of this world, believers must consciously make the
Word of God their foundation. The Word of God is the incorruptible seed that refines, purifies,
and shapes us into the image of Christ.

Every other form of knowledge should be evaluated through the lens of God’s Word, allowing it
to guide our decisions and actions. This is the posture every believer must adopt in these end
times.

Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV):

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man
who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew
and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man
who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew
and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Building your life on the solid foundation of God’s Word ensures stability and resilience against
the challenges of life. Let His Word refine, purify, and guide you daily.
