Dear Zeca,

Greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada! Soon you will be traveling here to start your program with us and I want to take this
opportunity to welcome you. You will be attending a school that is a part of Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education.
I am the Director of the International Student Program and am responsible for all international students in Chignecto-Central
Regional Centre for Education. I look forward to meeting you.

The most important person I will introduce to you is your Homestay Coordinator, Amber Manning. Their contact information
is: ManningAL@[Link], 782-440-5100. Please contact them if you have any questions about your school, homestay or
community. Amber Manning will be your contact while you are enrolled in our program.

During your stay you will be attending Northumberland Regional High School located at 104 Alma Rd., RR 3, Westville, NS,
B0K 2A0. You have been registered in grade 12, as per your application request.

The school is well known for its excellent sports teams, music programs, and academic achievement of its graduates. I am
sure you will be impressed with the facilities available and encourage you to come prepared to take part in school activities.
You may wish to visit their website: [Link]

Our high schools have trained student ambassadors waiting to help you when you arrive. You may be contacted by your
school’s ambassador prior to your arrival and we encourage you to ask them questions about your school and community.

You can find out more about our program by going to our website at [Link] or our main Facebook page:
[Link] We use the Facebook page to update students on
provincial news, contests and events. You can also find the Chignecto-Central Regional Central for Education's International
Student Program accounts on Facebook (Nova Scotia International Student Program - CCRCE) and Instagram (ccrce_isp).

On the NSISP website you will also find a copy of the student handbook to review with your family before arriving in Nova
Scotia [Link] Your health insurance will be provided by Blue
Cross. Information on your plan can be found at [Link] You will receive your insurance card after you
arrive in Nova Scotia.

We have carefully chosen a host family for you. I encourage you to make contact with them before you travel. Please feel
comfortable to ask them questions. The more questions you have answered before you come the more comfortable you will
feel.

Your host family will be the Hughes-Anderson family. Lori owns a day care and Danny is a production manager. Danny has
an in-home gym and is very interested in personal fitness. Danny and Lori enjoy many different activities including hiking,
basketball, weight training, reading and traveling. Their dogs are like their children, they have adorable Jack Russel Terriers
who are wonderfully trained. They also have four cats. Your host family may host more than one international student at a
time, so you may have an international host sibling when you arrive.

It is typical in most Canadian families for teenagers to have responsibilities around the home. Therefore you may be
responsible for tasks such as doing your own laundry, preparing your breakfast and lunch on school days, and keeping your
bedroom tidy. Please refer to our student handbook for additional tips on living with a host family.

Your host family looks forward to hearing more about your region and learning more about you and your family. I encourage
you to contact the family to begin communication for your arrival. Please find their contact information and home photo below.

The Hughes-Anderson home is very close to your school. You will take the bus to and from school; however, you are close
enough to the school that you may also decide to walk. This makes participating in extra-curricular activities very easy. There
are many great activities in your area such as the YMCA gym with a basketball court and swimming pool, movies, shopping,
an indoor soccer facility.

you in making contact.

When planning your travel to Nova Scotia, you should plan your flight itinerary using the Halifax Robert L. Stanfield
International Airport (YHZ) as the final destination and arrival between September 1 - 3, 2025. Please forward your flight
information as soon as possible to the NSISP head office: flightinfo@[Link]. First semester departures should be booked
for January 30 - February 2, 2026 and full year departures should be booked for June 26-30, 2026 (students who are
graduating with their high school diploma are recommended to book on June 30 in order to participate in graduation
ceremonies). Also, please ensure you check the website regularly for updates on travel and entry requirements to

welcoming you to Nova Scotia.
