Spelling rules

1. Most verbs add


2. If the verb ends in consonant 3. If the verb ends in -e,
wash – washed + y, add just
help – helped then replace y with
play – play ed like– liked live – lived

4. If one-syllable verb ends in cons.+vowel+cons., double the last cons. and add

rob – robbed, stop – stopped.

NOTE Do not double one-syllable verbs ending in –x, -w: fix – fixed, bow – bowed.

How to pronounce ?
A. Put the verbs into
