Abstract

Online Library Management System is a system which maintains the information

about the books present in the library, their authors, the members of library to
whom books are issued, library staff and all. This is very difficult to organize
manually. Maintenance of all this information manually is a very complex task.
Owing to the advancement of technology, organization of an Online Library
becomes much simple. The Online Library Management has been designed to
computerize and automate the operations performed over the information
about the members, book issues and returns and all other operations. This
computerization of library helps in many instances of its maintenances. It
reduces the workload of management as most of the manual work done is
reduced.

Introduction

E-Library Management System is an application which refers to library systems

which are generally small or medium in size. It is used by librarian to manage the
library using a computerized system where he/she can add new books, videos
and Page sources. Books and student maintenance modules are also included in
this system which would keep track of the students using the library and also a
detailed description about the books a library contains. With this computerized
system there will be no loss of book record or member record which generally
happens when a non-computerized system is used. All these modules are able to
help librarian to manage the library with more convenience and in a more
efficient way as compared to library systems which are not computerized.

Motivation

RESEARCH MOTIVATION ON LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

The present Study offers intervention of MIS (Management Information System)

to the conventional Library Management. Libraries, as centres of learning are
experiencing unprecedented rates of change, both from internal and external
environment. The new library environment incorporates a changing user
population, technology enhancements, transformation of the scholarly
communication system, digital information, new approaches to management and
a renewed commitment to planning and assessment throughout the
organization. However, Librarians as information managers have been slow to
keep pace with this change.

Scope and Objectives

A library management system is software that is designed to manage all the

functions of a library. It helps librarian to maintain the database of new books
and the books that are borrowed by members along with their due dates.
This system completely automates all your library’s activities. The best way to
maintain, organize, and handle countless books systematically is to implement a
library management system software.
A library management system is used to maintain library records. It tracks the
records of the number of books in the library, how many books are issued, or
how many books have been returned or renewed or late fine charges, etc.
You can find books in an instant, issue/reissue books quickly, and manage all the
data efficiently and orderly using this system. The purpose of a library
management system is to provide instant and accurate data regarding any type of
book, thereby saving a lot of time and effort.

1) Visual Studio 2019:

2) Sql Server Management System (SSMS):

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) is a software

application developed by Microsoft that is used for configuring,
managing, and administering all components within Microsoft SQL
Server. First launched with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, it is the successor
to the Enterprise Manager in SQL 2000 or before. The tool includes both
script editors and graphical tools which work with objects and features of
the server.

1. User Panel: -
Important role for making of User Panel is to Sign Up or creating a
member account in library database using user panel where user can
create his own account using sign up or registration form that was added
in navigation bar of User Panel. From this page member also can login
when he creates his own account.
Using this User panel user can check which books are available in
library and also, he can check details of that books like its name, cost,
how much was there in that book? And also, there is lot of information
related to book on that page was added regarding to those books.
For users friendly we also added book photos on that page.

2. Member Panel: -
In this Member Panel member can update his own details and
checks which books he taken from the library. He can update his Full
name, Date of Birth, contact number, email id, state, city, pin code,
address, and also, he can update his login credentials from this
panel.

On the right side of member details there is panel of issued books to

this member. This was connected by using member id, when
member get any book from library and he doesn’t return that book
then will show in that panel.

3. Admin Panel: -
Admin Panel is created for librarians. Using this panel they can add
and manage Author and Publisher details he also can manage
members in this library, librarian have access to remove any member
from library. Librarian can add new books and also have access to
remove and edit that books details using admin panel.

In this admin panel there is a page named as Book Inventory, this

was created to add new books, edit available books in library and
also delete book details from this library application.

Important role of this admin panel is to issue books to member.

Librarian can issue book to members and also collect from
members.

Conclusion

This website provides a computerized version of library management system which

will benefit the students as well as the staff of the library. It makes entire process
online where student can search books, staff can generate reports and do book
transactions. It also has a facility for student login where student can login and can
see status of books issued as well request for book or give some suggestions. It has a
facility of teacher’s login where teachers can add lectures notes and also give
necessary suggestion to library and also add info about workshops or events
happening in our college or nearby college in the online notice board. There is a future
scope of this facility that many more features such as online lectures video tutorials
can be added by teachers as well as online assignments submission facility , a feature
Of group chat where students can discuss various issues of engineering can be added
to this project thus making it more interactive more user friendly and project which
fulfills each users need in the best way possible.
