ABOUT THE TEST
The Raven’s Standard Progressive Matrices test was developed by J Raven, J.C.
Raven and H.C. Court. It consists of 60 non verbal items divided into five sets A.B.C.D.E
each comprising of 12 problems. The test was constructed to measure the educative
components of g, as defined in the Spearman’s theory of intelligence. The problems are
simple in the beginning and become more and more difficult as one proceeds towards the last
items.
RESULTS
The test results are valid as the discrepancy score is between +\-2.
BEHAVIOURAL OBSERVATION
The patient was impulsive and not focused while solving the test. It was observed that
the patient took comparatively more time to mark the responses, in the second half of the C,
D and E set. Verbal repetitions were observed. The patient lacked in abstract thinking.
