ENGLISH
Read the extract given below:
EARTH, OUR HOME planet is a world unlike any other. The third planet from the Sun, Earth is the
only place in the known universe confirmed to host life. With a radius of 3,959 miles, Earth is the
fifth largest planet in our solar system and it’s the only one known for sure to have liquid water on
its surface. Every other planet in the solar system was named after a Greek or Roman deity, but for
at least a thousand years, some cultures have described our world using the Germanic word
“earth”, which means simply ground.
Task:
Every planet has its own natural satellite like Earth has one Moon. Find out about each planet and
their satellites. Choose a planet which intrigues you most. Imagine about its night sky and describe
in about 50 words. You may support your write up with illustrations.

number in words and also in expanded form.

1. Draw a Space Scene:
o Take the help of your elders to know more on the internet about space.
o Using a basic drawing program (like MS Paint), draw a scene of space with a planet, stars,
and a rocket.
2. Space Animal Story:
o Write a very short story (3-5 sentences) on a text editor about an animal that travels to
space. Can you find about the first animal that travelled to space?
You may try using Word Pad or MS Word for the same.
3. Read the paragraph given below and try to know more about the person being talked about
in the text.
