CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION OF NON-GENERIC
WEEKEND UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS FOR THE
2024/25ACADEMIC YEAR
The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has limited spaces which it
would like to fill by admitting interested Malawians and non-Malawians who are
qualified, able and willing to pay the prescribed fees for weekend undergraduate
programmes. The programmes will be offered at the university’s City campus near
Chichiri Museum, between MUBAS Chichiri campus and MACRA Southern Region
offices.

Admission Requirements
a) Entry into Year 1
i) Applicants should possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education
(MSCE) or IGSCE or their equivalent ‘O’ level qualification with six credits
including English. Applicants must have scored an aggregate of not more
than 30 points.
ii) Those applying for programmes numbered 1 to 6 should have credits in
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For programme under 1, a
credit in Geography is also a requirement.
iii) Those applying for programmes numbered 7 to 9 should have a credit in
Mathematics and Physics, while Computer Studies (for 7 & 8) and Business
Studies (for 8 & 9) will give the applicants an added advantage.
iv) Those applying for programmes 10 and 11, should have Geography in
addition to Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
v) Those applying for Arts (programmes 12 to 15), should have minimum of
credit in any three of the following: History, Life Skills, Social Studies,
Creative Arts, Bible Knowledge, Performing Art and Languages.
b) Entry into Year 2
All candidates with GCE ‘A’ Levels will join in in Year 2 of study and the
following conditions apply:
i) Those applying for science related programmes should have completed A
Levels with a three-subject combination. The acceptable subjects for this
combination include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or
Geography with minimum grade of C in each of the three subjects.
ii) Those applying for Arts programmes should have completed A Levels
with a three-subject combination of either Geography, History, Life Skills,
Languages, Arts or Social Studies, with a minimum grade of C in each of
any of the three subjects. However, take note that BA in Language,
Communication and Culture has no option of Year 2 entry (all entries are
from Year 1).
iii) For all programmes, applicants with a relevant Diploma or higher
certificate in a related field can also apply and join in second year.
Mandatory Requirements
a) A completed undergraduate application which can either be collected in person
from MUST Registry Office or on written request or can be accessed via this link:

b) Authenticated copies of academic certificates or notification of results.
c) An original bank deposit slip of a non-refundable application fee of K10,000.
Fees
a) Tuition fees for weekend programmes is K900,000.00 per academic year. This
fee shall be subject to change from time to time and can be paid in two equal
instalments of K450,000 per semester.
b) Payment of both application fee and tuition fees should ONLY be made through

Deadline for Submissions
The deadline for submitting completed applications for all these Weekend programmes
