Assignment 1
Analog Circuits
Last date: 13th Feb 2025

1. Calculate the small signal current gain (AI) of the following circuit. β = 100 and VA = 100
V.

2. Find the small signal voltage gain (AV) for common base amplifier? β = 120, VA =∞.

3. Draw and plot the variations in load line and Q-point for a fixed bias circuit if,
(a) The base current is changing through a change in RB (base resistor)
(b) Vcc is fixed and RC (collector resistor) is changing.
(c) RC is fixed and Vcc is changing.

4. Draw input-output characteristics of npn and pnp transistors in Common emitter

configuration. Explain the significance of ICEO and ICBO in BJT.

5. Consider the source follower circuit in Figure below with transistor parameters VTN = 0.8
V, kn = 100 μA/V2, W/L = 20, and λ = 0.02 V−1. (a) Let IQ = 5 mA. (i) Determine the small-
signal voltage gain. (ii) Find the output resistance Ro.
6. Determine the output voltages of an op-amp for input voltages of Vi1 = 200 mV and Vi2 =
140 mV. The amplifier has a differential gain of Ad = 6000 and the value of CMRR is, (a)
200, (b) 105.

7. Write five differences in Class A, Class B, Class AB, and Class C power amplifiers.
