Organisational communication departments, strategists, and practitioners
need to constantly redefine their functions to embrace the dynamic,
innovative, connected, collaborative, integrative dimensions brought on
by constant connectivity. Not one field in organisational communication
is untouched by technological development. Discuss how technology is
used in the different fields of organisational communication and
substantiate this with examples from academic literature as well as from
industry.

development. Your explanation could be in
general terms and not refer to specific fields. The
idea is for you to understand what technological
development is and how it affects organisational
communication. Your post should be about 300

Explain the various aspects on which the field focuses with
examples.
You must refer to technological advancements in the field
with references to either artificial intelligence, internet of
things, mobile and wearable technology, social media or
big data. Not all these technological advances will be
applicable in each field but you must attempt to have
referred to all (not only one advancements in the entire
assignment).
Wide reading is essential to collect the different “pieces”
of the assignment “puzzle”.
